How to Install ESP-IDF on Windows 10 for ESP32 IOT (2021)

Installation of the ESP IDF is much easier than it used to be! I ended up being an Arduino IDE user back then but its so much easier now. It also opens up new possibilities like using ESP Rainmaker for secure end to end cloud-based IOT projects.

I'm looking forward to getting a C3 board to play with. Thanks for the look at ESPIDF, I've tried it once in the ast, but have mostly gone with PlatformIO for building software on the ESP8266 and ESP32 chips.

Its a good solution, Dave, I use it too! However, the ESP Rainmaker only builds on ESPIDF right now. I prefer PlatformIO and the Arduino for most things - so much control compared with Arduino IDE but then, its always good to try something new :)

Hi Nikolas. There are lots of good initial tutorials on ESP32. What in particular are you wanting to do with it? Can you program in C++?

Why does it not support 32bit Windows 7? I don't afford a 64bit PC now. I have Windows 7 PC. It fails the basic creation of interface. Do you have any solution? Please let me know.

@@Magic-Smoke I did already ask but they could not answer it. Others on the forum asked me to go for CLI. I hate CLI and has Python so it won't be good on Windows 7 I guess.
