Why on earth did my dumbass think that you could just remove old tips and just *clamp* new ones in? I know shit all about cars...

Nice video brother. Short and straight to the point. So my current situation is I have 4.5 inch tips and I’m trying to put some 3 inch quad tips. Do I have to measure the circumference of my current piping to make sure what I buy will fit right?
@CashedOutCars3 жыл бұрын
Piping and tips will generally be measured in terms of OD(outer diameter) and ID (inner diameter). Do some searching and find what will match up for you and you’ll be in good shape!

@n00bsrus14234 жыл бұрын
Why not just take the muffler off to weld it properly? It’s also less dangerous because you are not right near the fuel tank.
@CashedOutCars4 жыл бұрын
You certainly could do that. On this car it would have been a pretty big job to do it that way. That certainly is safer
@crocodile2006 Жыл бұрын
His weld job was terrible... but having said that, it doesn't need to be anything other than tack welded on... the exhaust fumes are blowing out the back of it so it only needs to be welded enough that it doesn't fall off
@Hunterbythesea4 жыл бұрын
Can you weld clamp on ones as well? Thx!
@CashedOutCars4 жыл бұрын
I don’t see why you wouldn’t be able to, just clean both surfaces you’re going to weld really well!

What size would slip over a 3” exhaust? I understand a 4” would, but would that be too loose?
@CashedOutCars4 жыл бұрын
Get a tip made for a 3” exhaust, it should be 3 inch Inner diameter to go over a 3” outer diameter exhaust. Best of luck!

Is the tip stainless being welded to metal ? What kind of weld did you use. ?

It was, I used regular wire with no problems. People tend to overhype using stainless fillers

can you weld a tip with bigger inlet than thr stock tailpipe? like if i weld on the muffler where it touches around the tailpipe area. is it going to work or ruin the muffler?
@CashedOutCars3 жыл бұрын
Yes you can, but it'll have to be a small enough gap that you can neatly fill it with weld. If it's significantly bigger you may want to use some sort of adapter. Good luck!

Amazing ! Thank you for the video

Do the inlet have to be the same size my inlet is 2 inch but all the tips i see are 2.5
@CashedOutCars3 жыл бұрын
You'll likely have a gap if you try to use bigger tips, it's doable but will take a bit more work

Why do you have to cut it? Is it necessary or can you just attach the tip on without cutting anything?

If your exhaust tip will fit over the existing tail pipe you wouldn't need to cut it

The welds 😂😂😂

Laugh all you want, they’re under the car so no one will see them and they’re also plenty strong. Also, this is welding stainless steel to regular steel and if you have any experience welding you know this isn’t easy (or ideal, to be honest)

If it works it works, no need for pretty welds for something like this on a car like this. They’re holding strong and id rather do it myself than overpay someone🤪
