It can obviously go faster. I remember multiple analysis came out after the first run. Misha has clocked it on a dry track at 6:38 on a private testing day of Mercedes, which is almost 10 seconds faster than the previous record 20.8 km run. I guess amg doesn't really need a faster time with this car so they don't do an official run for the second time.

Der 911 wird das defintiv nicht schaffen. Da wird ne neue Klasse kommen müssen. Das schnellste Auto von Porsche ist der gt2 rs mit einer 6:43. Also muss der 992.2 gt2 rs ganze 15 Sekunden schneller sein als der aktuelle. Schwierig. Vielleicht ein 992.2 GT2RS MR, aber dieser ist ja dann auch nicht von Porsche.

The suspension on the AMG One is an engineering masterpiece. This is an incredibly bumpy and uneven track. The 919 Evo onboard looked like it would shake its drivers brain to jelly. The AMG One hardly seems to notice most bumps and stays flat on the roll despite that.

Yes it is a single clutch sytem that has torque-fill engineered between gear changes, no loss in power or torque inbetween shifts. Shifts are 'slower' but overall speed (when measured) is faster than any dct. Gearbox is also lighter.

Yeah definitely areas for improvement and suspension tuning. Problem is as humans we are not consistent enough, so on one lap a corner will be taken a certain way, then the next lap the same corner will be taken slightly different due to whatever factors involved. It will be extremely hard to improve that time now without taking unnecessary risks.

They need to calibrate the hood spoiler. They stay opened when the driver came out of a turn, and go full throttle. This generate more lagg. If you brake, they open. You go full throttle, they close.😢

You can see the car was de-rating the electric power on the uphill section after Bergwerk, and on the Dottinger Hohe straight, the car started to decelerate even on full throttle. This is what happen when almost half of the power output is from the battery.

looks like the flaps are automatically calibrated to suit the track, or there a push to downforce button? the corner speed is insane

Not sure, there are illogical times where the flaps popped up, on-throttle. I suspect it's automatic, for car balance purposes, doubt he would press buttons to hamper his speed.

@@Jejking seems it anticipates a corner like it knows where they are... Yes illogical at times that is why i was leaning towards a drs like button

Yeah exactly my thoughts, I'm pretty sure the car has been fed track information to control the flaps without the need of driver input.

Looks like they are open when braking and turning. Figuring when the wheels are turned then more air is being forced into the wheel wells. When he straightens out then the flaps close. Just my observation.

@@mishysquittens they open before he brakes when there is no G involved...maybe he just touches the brakes to activate before the braking zone

Car looked understeery in some turns, i still think there are seconds in it.
