You can use your phone as a bluetooth hotspot, connect via wired ethernet or get a wifi usb dongle to complete your install. Once Fedora is up and running, install the broadcom-wl package with the dnf package manager. Good luck. Broadcom wifi sucks.

Make sure secure boot is disable on your bios. I had similar problems before and after that change, never had those problems again

I ran into that issue too, my PC doesn't have Ethernet connection, Bluetooth did not work either, and I had no backup PC, simply use USB Hotspot tether in you hotspot settings you can find it

Looking to set up a dual boot on my desktop (windows/linux). Would you recommend Fedora, Debian, or Ubuntu? I haven’t messed with a bare metal Linux desktop in ~17 years, though I’ve spun up a few VM’s here and there, and can’t get passed through graphics cards to work fully. Because of that, I’d like to try a bare-metal install on either the second nvme slot, or a pair of the ssd ports as a zfs installation. Thoughts?

I currently run a windows and fedora dual boot and it was pretty painless for me. Install windows first and then Fedora after so you get grub to load everything proper. Windows has been good with not nuking the /boot partition with me. However, I do need to rearrange the boot order sometimes after a bios update. Edit: i'm assuming you are an advanced user considering you are messing with NVME pass-through. For me, Fedora was the perfect balance of stability, up-to-date software, and power. Debian is super stable if you want to have a rock-solid distro. I generally steer clear of derivative distros (Ubuntu) unless they have something big going for them that's difficult for me to set up myself.

If you are new to Linux I don't recommend fedora and debian because enabling third-party non-free can be challenging i know from experience i recommend something like zorinnos or mint, PopOs is also good if you have newer Nvidia card and if you have some experience then fedora and suse are way to go or debian if you wanna be rock solid

If you have enough ram, then choose fedora. Debian is good but outdated, ubuntu generally perfect but I personally don't like it. If your system is using UEFI, you should install windows first and then fedora afterwards. But if your system is using BIOS, the order of installation doesn't matter. You can add windows using grub, or otherwise add linux using easybcd.

When I restart after installing i get to a screen where i got to choose if start fedora or test media and start fedora, whatever i choose i get again to the live test of fedora. Help???

I'm on Ubuntu 22.04. I made a Fedora boot USB via the instructions provided. When I boot my dell using F12, it gives me the option to boot via USB. However, I just get a black screen with a flashing _. It is like the USB is blank? I'm familiar with booting into live OS on USB drives. I use Tails regularly. I have used MINT and UBUNTU on USB live before installing Ubuntu a few years ago. I was just wanting to test the USB as I have a Framework 13 coming next month. This is my first try with Fedora. I've never used a media tool until now. Usually I use Balena Etcher to flash the system image to the USB drive then boot from that drive.

Fedora Media Writer corrupted my 2 USB sticks while trying to write ISO file. Windows is not detecting my flash drives after changes made by Fedora Media Writer. my usb sticks are unusable now

Rufus is not available for every OS. Balena etcher is a better option.

Video Suggestion: reinstalling the OS but keeping your existing home folders and not writing over them. I need to reinstall f40. I know there's a way to maintain my home partition that's was created by default but not sure how.

I think you need to mount the /home folder as a separate partition at the setup process. You have to be careful to only delete the root partition when you reinstall. Honestly, i'd love a tutorial like this too. Then there are complexities if you use BTRFS (the /home folder is its own subvolume)

Install Gnome Extensions. Dash to Dock should do what you want I believe as far as docking the tray
