Best advice put some kinda silicone grease Vaseline or something on the o-ring. My sons brand new boat has the same plug system cable came off inside the boat shortly after purchase . Lucky under factory warranty marina fixed it. May want an extra hand putting it in and out so it doesn’t happen to anyone else. My boys get mad at me before I back the boat down the ramp I ask multiple times if the plug is in and boat power is on. How that too helps hope everyone stays safe.

That’s great! I love having it. I do apply a bit of plumbing grease to it periodically just to help keep that o-ring from drying out. May not be necessary, but someone suggested it so I started it. Thanks for watching.

I have been thinking of doing the same thing on my ole 2002 Skeeter. I replaced the cables, pumps and valves on my livewell's with no problems so I figure I would do this as well. I have the same problem bending way down to unscrew and screw in the drain plug. I'm not getting any younger. LOL Thanks for sharing. I feel more confident now on the task at hand.

Swimming pool lube is what I use doesn’t mess up o rings. Also put some silicone at least in holes drilled on fiberglass or you’ll be sorry.

Nice video. I have an older Basscat Jaguar (2000) and as I was watching your video I noticed the vents on back of your boat had the plastic "dryer hose" going up to vents. Mine has long since rotted away. I was wondering if you replaced yours?

I have not replaced my hoses, but it is possible the previous owner did. I bought this boat in January of 2022 so I haven’t had it that long. Thanks for watching!

Thanks for watching. So far I really like it. Seems to hold well. I’ve been on the water about 8 times since installing and it has performed well. No regrets yet. So far so good!

The only bad thing about the remote drain plugs is you Gotta keep grease on them when they dry out they won’t seal up I gotta put grease on mine about twice a month.

Good point. I’ve recently discovered that. As long as I keep up on it I think it’s still better than the old plug.
