The nest app had a nice walkthrough of the wiring. Did google drop that feature?

Buying this for the heat/cool mode. My Honeywell used to do it, then all of the sudden it doesn’t offer that feature in the interface. Texas in September range is like 60-90F😂 Thanks for the guide!

What happened to the jumper from RC to RH?

the problem im having is that the wiring from my old thermostat seems to be copper (kinda’ thick) and wont fit all the way into the little holes of the gray connection wheel. they go in the entry hole but wont go all the way back in to get that secure connection snap. any suggestions? if not, i’ll have to return it. obviously i have an old house. 😮

I have emergency heat on my current thermostat that uses a jumper wire. I have been told that this is not needed on the new nest thermostat as nest detects this and no jumper wire are needed. Is this true. I am getting different answers.
@OneHourSmartHome3 ай бұрын
In my case it did not require a jumper wire. It may still need a common wire in some cases however it does have ports for emergency heat with heat pumps. Let me know if you have any more questions.

Great video but you forgot to install the metal mounting plate before the white cover plate.

I have two stage heater but basically I can’t find any settings for that at the google home app. The thing is that i have same amount of wires as you have at the video plus the C . I really don’t see even one video for that .

wait, where is the power switch to turn ac/heat power off? I thought you would use house circuit breaker or is that not safe for house to flip>

The new one doesn't need a common wire?
@OneHourSmartHome4 ай бұрын
It will work without a common wire for most systems. If you have a heat only or a ac only system you may need a common wire.

Nest is clever, it’s able to siphon just enough energy from other circuits to keep battery charged and not disturb the system functionality.

Scan the QR code on the back of the device's box. That way, you don't have to pull the thermostat off of the wall. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Does the 24v transformer set up that you show in this video kzbin.info/www/bejne/nZLLgat5mLV3qtE also work for the new 4th Gen?
@OneHourSmartHomeАй бұрын
Have not tested it specifically but it theoretically should as it’s the same type of transformer you would find in a typical HVAC system.
