You need to install a pressure tank to prevent on/off cycle. If your well doesn't produce that much water, installing a CSV valve can help you out as to limit the amounts of water coming out to as low as 1 gallon per minute.vthat way you'll never run your well dry and your pump will live a long life.👍 Great video.

I just set up one of these pumps on a water tank and was getting the same pump circulating cut off. We installed a check valve at the pump and it works as intended. Looked up your video to see if we did something wrong and we’re having the same results. Good luck.

I am quite amazed at all of the variables you need to deal with. Your videos are great to help people understand what they need to expect and the skills they need to feel they can learn and apply. Showing what the issues are the best way to motivate people to become educated in these regards. Nic job.

Pressure tank for longer pressure time....you need the toggle switch that turns the pump off when it senses enough pressure in the line......your pump is maxing out what it can push when the line is closed

Was wondering why you would connect the pipe to pump before putting the pipe into the well? Also, when removing the pump, why not disconnect the pipe first? Thank you

That's too funny. When I was filming another video, I dang near used that phrase because I often look like I'm doing that. Probably why your dad said it. I accidentally left those pliers outside for 1 week and they ended up looking like that!

Here's a thought, if you label your video part 2 installation of a harbor freight well pump you should start with that project. As for using pallets to elevate your firewood if there not pressure treated wood you'll be redoing that job next season. Just an observation.

@6:58 Unroll your thread tape the other way. Wrap the threads the same way, just unroll it opposite of what you did. For one, it dont unroll as much and you can get a tighter wrap, and its eaiser to control how much is coming off the spool.

You don’t need a torque arrestor on a jet pump… 🧐
@mehardies3999
@mehardies3999 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks. I don't think I have a torque arrestor on there. It should be a check valve that keeps water from flowing back downhill.

I ran PEX from my shallow well pump into the side of the cabin, i added a shutoff with that small drain cap that unscrews, i used heat tape that worked well , then i left the place for a Winter SnowBird break down south....hope all is well upon return. I want to remove the old 2.5" galvanized piping and replace but am concerned the hole will fill in some during such an attempt. The cost of a new well is communist - ly ridiculous.

Have you considered a rain water collection system to help fill your 55gal water drums? Seems like a easy solution and less dependent on well and generator. I'm thinking about installing one at my camp for same reasons.

Why was the pump cycling as it approaches 50psi. You never stated what caused that and if you remedied it
@mehardies3999
@mehardies3999 2 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, I don't have a good answer for that. I think it might be due to missing hose clamps that are introducing some air into the pipe. It might also be a clogged foot valve. I need to spend a little more time trying to figure it out. Sorry.

@@featherspreaderinc3146 I think a check valve before the pump is redundant because the foot valve is supposed to do the same thing. Let me know how your goes. Thanks!

It does that when there is no tank with some air in the system. It’s called waterlogged when the pump cuts off and on rapidly because the tank has filled completely with water and no air is there to cushion the surge of water into it. You need a small tank with a bladder.
