Great video, quick question any reason to remove and loctite the two bolts holding the gear to the Cam?

No reason to remove those bolts or the gear at all.

Do you need to replace any gaskets? Like the tensioner gasket? Id like to have all parts on hand before i tear mine down

Tensioner gasket is good to have on hand. Otherwise everything else is fine

Why do you do it 180 degrees out of TDC? Does that keep the Intake from having pressure on it when removing?. The book says the lobes are to be facing out not in. I'm just wondering because I just replaced mine but the way the book told me to. I noticed pressure on the I take when removing the cam. Then had to spin it back under pressure to get it back together.

I'm having trouble getting mine timed right . Lol do you turn the crank till the solid line comes up or the arrow?

You are correct he did not do it exactly as the book said. I wondered myself if there was a work around to this because I don't want to separate the cams and sprockets either. It seems he removes the valve cover and plugs then rotated the engine until he found a spot where none of the cam lobes are depressing the bucket&shims. I wondered if there was a spot during revolution of the crank where this was the case and apparently his video shows that. He then marked the cam sprockets to the chain and doesn't appear to have rotated the engine. Idk why the book says to do it how it does but there's plenty of repair manuals factory and 3rd party that are far worse than a long road example. They have straight up backwards, wrong or altogether missing info. He apparently got it set back up right but the engine sounded a little worn. Maybe because it was a turbo idk. I'm about to do valve stem seals.

@@SneekyTuned the head to case bolts on the mag side of the engine. They are the silver bolts included with the arp2000 kit.
