There's quick connect kits that you can get to convert any pickup to work with their system. I converted some Dimarzios and it worked great.

@@joeyskar yeah, I am aware. I bought a pack of 20 from electric supply shop. If Gibson offers their pups with a clean factory quick connect, more people with the pcb will be inclined to buy Gibson branded pups. This will give them an edge over DiMarzio and others by making it way easier to drop in as opposed to having to break out a soldering iron every time. I know it's not impossible to work around the Quick Connect system but, it makes things so much easier. It's right in the name, quick connect. I would probably buy three different sets or at least 3 bridge pickups from gibson if they implemented it. If I have to do surgery I might as well buy some bare knuckles.

Peter green reversed the neck pickup not the bridge one. Not sure why you are indicating he reversed the bridge pickup? The bridge pickup was always in standard orientation. The reason he "flipped " the neck pickup around was the magnet was installed backwards after the pickup was rewound so it was out of phase with the bridge one.

I thought Peter Green's neck pickup was wound differently and had to be installed "upside-down" for it to sound properly.

@@These_go_to_eleven_1959 I knew something was up with it. I wonder if Gibson replicated that with the Gary Moore signature guitars. I had a 2013 on for awhile but I never noticed a significant difference with the neck pickup vs. my other Les Pauls with various Burstbucker pickups. So far the only guitar I've ever found that really nails that sound is my Teye Apache.

@@joeyskar I am not sure If gibson did it with the PG les paul but i really hope so for the money they sell for. Here is the thing if you just reverse the pickup there will be no difference, you have to take out the magnet of the neck pickup and flip it 180 degee's and re-insert the magnet that way. Then reinstall the p'u in reverse. that should get you that out of phase "quack" tone Peter green had. I get it no prob regardless of what model humbucker doing it this way.

You are the person to ask; can the bobbins be unscrewed from the baseplate and remounted on the "Flip-side" of the base-plate so that the little wings used for the height adjust could be used as mounts on a "Dogear" P90 routed Guitar. I have a 335P90 custom shop and wanted to try putting fullsize humbuckers on it without routing? Any info would be valued. Thanks.

Please put some sort of protection on the back of the guitar while you are soldering close to it. This prevents solder splattering on the guitar or flux splattering as seen here.

if the pots on the guitars are vintage 50s tapper gibson should definitly sell the 4 counductor quick connect adapters i had to rewire 2 of my gibsons just to change the pickups and get an elder 57 classic or even seymour duncan

It’s interesting how factually incorrect rumors spread so easily in the guitar world. It’s fifth year of the current line, yet the quick connect rumor is still around. And for the record, I had a friend that constantly complained about the quick connect in his 2017 Gibson. I offered to remove the quick connect and hand wire his guitar. Tuned out, he didn’t notice any tonal difference after the change, except he lost all the cool features the circuitboard offered.

As I'm getting ready to watch this video I was thinking why doesn't Gibson do a Dave Meneketti les Paul he was Rockin a les Paul in Y&T Long before Slash was so I wish Gibson would show what a great guitarist Dave is and do a Meneketti les Paul I think it's a 68' ? Les Paul but he's played the shit out of his check out some clips of him still playing his guitar I don't think Murphy lab could match the wear and tear on that Gibson lol oh well just my thoughts on what would be a sign of respect to a great guitarist and singer he is

Btw I got my first Gibson last year, a les Paul standard in sherry burst great fkn guitar I know why Rockers play Gibson's now even though they play different guitars on stage but les Paul's in the studio,George Lynch has been playing les Paul's on stage lately
