Yeah I have them installed by the builder but their charging me like 1700 just to activate them so I was trying to see how complicated it actually is

You simply connect positive cable (usually red or white) to the positive input and negative cable (black or red) to the negative input. Check your speaker instructions to see how you "tap" the speakers. Depending on what amplifier you use you could be using the 70v setting 100v setting or 8ohm setting.

Would like to see a wire fished through the wall and also how you measured exactly how to get the speakers in right place. This usually is a two man job. One in attic, other marking the location below, and then they have to check for studs before drilling.

The speaker is hanging off of the speaker, not the drywall.

@@matta8359 they're designed to be installed in drywall, I'm an installer and have never had a problem. Obviously there's no way to install plywood in a finished home.

@@stevenmetz5363 well first you need the right tools, mainly fiberglass rods and a fish tape. Second you have to accept a few extra small holes that will have to be patched 😁

Thank you for the video. But, you kind of cheated there... :-) How did you know the exact location to start cutting the ceiling from the bottom, and also, from the top?

not sure how he did it but I heard a great tip in that you should drill a small hole where you w ant to put it then put a coat wire through and observe the location on the other side to make sure all is well. I think he also could have just cut from the attic space down and not cut from the ceiling up. I'm installing these and I have a large attic like this and I might do that.

Depends on if your house is prewired. If it's prewired then you already have a small hole. If you do, stick a wire hanger or similar up there and feel around for a stud.

Im planning on buying 2 pioneer car speakers Can i use car speakers as in ceiling atmos speakers ? Any tips how can i ensure it does not fall ? And is it a good idea to use them for my home theater ? Car speakers do not have the same kind of attachment points / wings as ceiling speakers. In case the ceiling is drywall, I don’t know if screwing the speakers to it will hold up.

Dont use car speakers for Home Theater. They are usually 4 ohm and not designed for that application.

@@ColoradoStreaming i have an amp that supports 4ohm And i have been using old 4ohm speakers for my 5.1 setup several months now and it works fine No overheat My room is pretty small So i can play it -28db to -22db And its loud

You are right, it would have been easier from above. The only downside was the amounts of loose insulation, which i like to avoid being around. 🙂

I'm guessing you checked the connections already. Are there any electrical wires close to the speaker wire? That could cause issues.
