How to install Kali Linux 2020.1b in VMware Workstation Player 15 on Windows 10

Finally. Being an ethical hacker, some things require linux, and kali Linux, many tools require kali Linux, and I need those tools, but many also require windows. Needed a way to be able to swap from one the the other easily like this video showed me how to do. Thank you.

Very helpful tutorial, i didnt want to always reboot into kali when I want to have a kali terminal, now i can just use both OS without rebooting. But enabeling AMD-V would be nice to have explained as well

Only when kali boots up your assigned RAM will be put to use. If the VM image (Kali) is not running your RAM remains untouched by the VM.

your storage and processor should be fine, its not a super heavy OS so your ram should suffice but 8gb RAM is pretty much minimum standard for running a VM. If you're only storing .txt and basic files and arent gaming and storing UHD video, 240 should be alright

@@gagandeep6109 12GB should be fine, boot your VM and check to see how much RAM is actually being utilized. If you dont have a ton of background processes running on your local machine, Kali shouldnt generally consume a ton of RAM. But just keep an eye on it and if need be, buy some more if your mobo can support it

yes you can . simply download kali linux vmware edition. open Kali-Linux-2020.2a-vmware-amd64.vmx this file. your vmware automatically detect it and u can start using linux by turning on the machine. default id and password is kali.
