*VERY IMPORTANT MUST READ:* In the last part of the video I have mentioned installing guest additions. Before that I also mentioned to install kernel headers using the below command *sudo apt install linux-headers-$(uname -r)* (It seems like this command is getting obsolete).. instead of that, you can install kernel headers by using the below command : *sudo apt install linux-headers-amd64* then restart the VM> Now Insert Guest VM Additions and follow the video. I didn’t read this and typed in obsolete headers….. It read: Reading Packages List ….. Done Building Dependency Tree …… Done Reading Stare Information ….. Done Err installing ….. 6.3 ….. Err installing …. 6.3…… then asked me to type passed in which I did…… continued to follow your video to under devices - add guest This is where my computer froze and I couldn’t do anything so I clicked on alt + shift + delete and signed out. Idk how to get back to where I was in the installation. Do I have to start over? Any advice on how to move forward? Thank you Rene

Thank you, very helpful. I installed on Win 10. However, when I selected GNOME for Desktop Environment, and completed the setup, the VM would crash at login. I repeated the installation and opted for Xfce (default) and the rest of the installation was smooth. End up with a desktop that looks different, but functional. Thank you

GNOME Desktop is very heavy and relies on discrete GPU.. Its recommend to choose XFCE Desktop ..

Desktop environment is a GUI that you see on the screen. It lets you to interact with the buttons, apps, multi tasking, quick toggles like enable wifi, bluetooth. It also comes with preset of necessary applications like file manager, browser, media player.. It's a power house. GNOME and KDE Plasma are called the desktop environment that offers next level desktop user experience. In facts it's far better than windows 11 UI.
