Thank you for explaining the process of identifying the correct wire. So many other "how to" videos just skip that part by saying they already looked it up before hand and they're just gonna start connecting stuff. There is no assumption in a how to video, other than assuming we're a blank slate and we're watching the video to figure out how to get started.

Thank you for this video. After trying several searches and attempting to make sense of some other videos, yours was spot on and answered all my unknowns. I have a 1998 Toyota 4Runner that I had, on the spur of the moment, decided to replace the burnt out conventional bulb with LEDs--I bought Sylvania bulbs. After doing so, I noticed the ABS light on my dash; through a Google search, I quickly discovered I needed a load equalizer, so back to O'Reillys for it. Through other searches, I already knew the wire I needed to tap into with the equalizer was the green one with a white line on it. Instead of attaching the other end of the equalizer to the common wire (white with a black line on it), I crimped a connector on it that had a hole for a bolt, and then I just used the existing grounding point behind the side panel instead. Everything worked--no more ABS light. Thanks again.

FOR EVERYONE ASKING ABOUT TAIL LIGHT ERRORS ON YOUR Dash. These resistors are not only for indicator lights. The reason your indicators hyperflash is because the vehicle thinks your light bulb is burn out. LED lights act like a burnt out conventional bulb. So if your led indicators hyperflash, you need a resistor. If your LED brake light or tail light shows up as a burnt out bulb error on your dash, YOU ALSO NEED A RESISTOR. A resistor is needed in any situation where you need to trick the car into thinking you have a normal bulb there that ISN'T burnt out. Hope that helps

What's the difference in doing this & just changing the flasher relay? I upgraded my 02 RAM with LED taillights & all I did was swapped out my flasher relay to stop the hyperflash? Will it damage anything if you don't have led resistors installed?
@Tweeter10074 жыл бұрын
I personally find it much easier to solve the fast flashing issue by simply installing an electronic flasher in place of the standard one(a simple plug in) which normally sells for about $9.00. It also saves on power usage, unlike substituting a filament bulb with a resister to mimic the same wattage draw in the circuit. It's a whole lot less work not altering your wiring too!
@HeadlightRevolution4 жыл бұрын
Installing an LED flasher is certainly a much easier route! However, most new vehicles do not use a relay to control the turn signal anymore, and it's all done through the BCM. So in those cases, wiring in a resistor is the only option.
@Tweeter10074 жыл бұрын
@@HeadlightRevolution Yes that is very true of most newer vehicles that now have a BCM do the job, in that way it cuts the cost, and they are proving to be very reliable. The down side is having to keep the draw on the circuit close to what the original incandescent lamp used by way of a resister which is more work to wire in than simply changing over to an electronic flash as we did on our older models. I have a 09 H2 that has the BCM, so if I want Led turns, I have no choice but to throu in the resisters in parallel with the bulbs. Thanks for responding, and I do hope more sites will mention that the E flasher is a great option when their is no BCM. Another monkey wrench you can encounter, mostly on the foreign cars is the can-bus systems. But that's a topic for another day😉!

Be sure that any wiring stripped open "especially" on trucks inner fenders or areas that are damp locations, are sealed from the elements i/e solder joints, shrink tube, spray on electrical tape, silicon, electrical tape. Failure to do so will result in long term damage to your wiring, corrosion will follow the entire span of wire ruining your factory electrical wiring harness. Keep water and salt water out. Do I need to connect them on all lights before I see results? Let’s say if I install them on the back left like you are then it’ll blink normally when the back right and the front 2 still hyper blink.
@HeadlightRevolution6 ай бұрын
Since it's one resistor per bulb, they will work as soon as installed. If you install on passenger side but not on the driver, the passenger side will be the only one fixed.

is hyperflash bad do I need the load resistor? is there any other advantage other than slowing down the rate the light flashes
@HeadlightRevolution6 жыл бұрын
It's not a bad thing, it just gets annoying after a while. Some people actually like Hyperflash due to the attention the rapid blinking/indication gives. All Resistors do is slow the pace on the blinking down to the normal pace. Great question!

do you fit only 1 resistor or 1 to each resistor if yes it would pay to fit an LED indicator relay unit?

question: I bought a LED light housing with resistor pre-wired for my front civic 92-95 signal. When i turn my headlight one click or the day light is ON, the LED signal light will just dim a little not like the old way of signal light flashes. I did swap out the oem bulb with LEd light bulb without resistor, it did not hyper flash but as soon as my day light or headlight is turn ON, it just dim a little and flash...its hard to notice on bright day light. Do u have any solution that i can buy and install to fix my problem?

THANKS....I never knew of how to wire lights. Still having mine done by a shop but great to know. I plan on buying me that tester at Walmart....SMILES....did not know how it worked and the wire spliter. Neat tools I don't have. I'm having Led Pillar Lights installed on 2019 Rogue rear window hatch. Can't wait for the cool look. Thanks again, great knowledge you have given... :-)))

Hi there! Thank you so much for making these awesome videos :) It's very helpful :) I was just wondering what if you get a resistor without the mounting (screws) Can you tape it with the cables or is it a bad idea? than you
@HeadlightRevolution Жыл бұрын
The resistor would absolutely melt the wiring if you tie it off with them. Letting it hand might be the only option unfortunately.

With using the T-Connector/Soldering, if I were ever to go back to Halogen bulbs, would this compromise that and need to replace harness?

If upgrading all the turn signal bulbs to LED, what is the disadvantage to changing the flasher unit to an LED compatible model rather than wire in resistors? Second question, is there a down side if one decided to go back to incadecent bulbs, i.e. do the resistors need to be removed so there is less amperage load on the wiring?
@HeadlightRevolution4 жыл бұрын
There is no downside to using an LED flasher unit instead of a resistors. However, most new vehicles do not use relays, so they cannot be used. If you go back to an incandescent bulb, you will need to remove the resistor so that you don't have to much resistance in the circuit. Same goes for if you use a flasher unit as well.

My rig started hyper blinking when I swaped the front blinker bulbs, would I put the resistors on the front? My front bulbs don't have a specific blinker wire as it runs into a connector that plugs into the headlight itself and is then wired according inside. Thanks for the video!

Thank you for sharing the video with the useful information 🙏 I came acroos that video while trying to get my turn-signal LED bulbs works. I have a Suzuki s-cross (crossover) 2013. Turn-signal lights are PY21W. I replaced the 4 of the halogen ones with 4 Osram ledriving SL PY21W Amber. 2 LEDs on front doesn't work at all (they are tested other way and not faulty). 2 LEDs on back of the car blink faster then usual. 1. Do i need to switch the car's wires polarity of the front plugs? becouse that kind of bulb base can't be fixed other way to change polarity (because of the 2 pins on 150° that make you fix the bulb only in 1 position). After sorting out the answer to question 1: 2. About the fast blinking issue - do i need to put a resistor near any LED bulb (4 resistors at sum)? Or put 1 resistor near 1 LED bulb is enough for the whole 4 turn-signal circuit? Best regards! Idan

You can go on amazon and simply get a LED flasher module to plug in. Like $9. Unplug old bulb flasher, replace with LED flasher. No solder, no heat, no mess
@HeadlightRevolution4 жыл бұрын
That is totally another great option for you, and that would require you just finding the correct relay for your vehicle! Other than that, saves the process of tapping the fuses, and helps keep your OEM harness that much more clean!👍

Are resistors required for any other drop-in LED replacements, other than turn signals? Like license plate lights, map lights, other various internal cab lights etc?
@HeadlightRevolution Жыл бұрын
I would say for almost every vehicle, no. We've personally never seen a vehicle that monitors those bulbs in a way that would cause issues.

So question…if my car came stock with LEDS and I just wanted to change mine out for a different LED brand would I still need resistors?

If your vehicle has OEM LED you cannot change them out unfortunately. These are all non-serviceable.

Hi, Great instructions. I have one question. Does installing the resistors in the rear also take care of the hyperflash in the front turn signals as well?
@HeadlightRevolution11 ай бұрын
No, you will need one resistor per bulb.
@DanoftheDead8053 жыл бұрын
Question. If you put LED's in the front should you put the resistors in the front? If you do install resistors in the front and want to later put LED's in the rear, do you need to install resistors in the rear as well?
@HeadlightRevolution3 жыл бұрын
Good question. Yes you will need a resistor for each area of the vehicle that has a turn signal. So a pair for the front & a pair for the rear.
