This is demo # 7. None of you addressed my dimmer. It has a bronze connector and a copper one. And... it does not dim. Great!

OK so I just bought a Leviton Slide Dimmer single pole, now my box in the wall is plastic & there is no ground wire from the wiring harness only the hot & neutral only, so the problem I am having is that even though the dimmer works correctly without the green ground wire unable to hook up to anything is that when the light is turned on I get static on my am/fm radio in the kitchen though when I turn radio off the static disappears completely so what can be done about this could it be the dimmer is not correct for my ceiling light that uses three led bulbs?

I'm not a certified electrician, but if I were you, If the box is metal, I wouldn't worry about it. The switch grounds to the metal box if the box is installed correctly

What do you do if your box does not have a ground wire sticking out and your new dimmer switch does?

You do not have to connect the ground if one is not there.

installed on single pole with my black wire in black and my white wire in red. turns on but not off. no ground wire available

Leviton....absolute garbage!!! I have a whole house full of these. They work when they want. Junk!!!
