Not sure if you're still active, but quick question: First, I was happy to see your AIO mounted vertically on the side of the case, instead of top. I also noticed you're pulling air through the rad from the three fans inside. So, how are you filtering air on the outside that's entering the rad? (I couldn't see back side) And more importantly, do you think there's any benefit doing push/pull there? I have Corsair AR120s and the AL120V2s, BUT I have room to install three static TL-B12Ws onto the rad side facing out (and ofc the reg flow fans on the other side that you see inside case). It's a roomy case, the 5000D RGB airflow, and well I guess I wanna move a lot of air :) Thank you for video and reading. p.s. Just noticed your AIO is NZXT just like mine lol. Guess il experiment with NZXT's controller, the Corsair fans and Lian Li controller, hah.

@felixchien1664 Жыл бұрын
Well they do. If they didn't interconnect, you'd have wires for every single fan. The multi hub connector is ubiquitous for all advanced computer fan packages. One way or another, the fans need to communicate. Also, when fans are interlinked, they act as one unit and only need a single comm and power. So yes, the Lian Li design saves a lot of wires. And there's even a lawsuit on other companies using their design IP

Air from inside the radiator will travel up. Right into that CPU pump. It's going to get pretty hot in there. ALWAYS make sure the radiator hose ports are ABOVE the CPU pump.
@BuildsWithV Жыл бұрын
Yeah except everyone forgets one very important fact… the air can never make it to the pipes. This is one of the best ways to mount your AIO.
@DrewMarqX6 Жыл бұрын
@BuildsWithV Wrong. Over time, water evaporates. Even in a sealed radiator. Air rises. Right through the same tubes the water ran through. Strait to the pump. Your asking for trouble.
@BuildsWithV Жыл бұрын
@@DrewMarqX6 yes the water evaporates but the air stays inside the radiator. If you’re telling me that the air can come all the way down through the radiator and into the pump then the air will have no issue making it down the tubes and back into the radiator. The logic doesn’t make sense. I’ve had my rads mounted like this for a long time. Not one single time have I had to hear air bubbles. When I had it mounted with tubes at top or even radiator on top of my case, heard air bubbles constantly hitting the pump.
@DrewMarqX6 Жыл бұрын
@BuildsWithV If water can travel through those tubes, guess what, so can air. And air rises. Never mount a pump above the radiator, dude. You know what they say..F around and find out. So the nzxt hub is just a splitter for all the other hubs. One of the lian li hubs is for the lian li Strimer plus cables and the other hub is for the 3 fans on the side which were the v1 of these fans. I have removed them after this video to install these new fans so that hub is gone. Currently have 2 lian li hubs (one for Strimer cables and one for these new fans). My aio plugs into the nzxt usb splitter along with the other usb 2.0 devices.

@@sweetbiscuits91231 I’m not sure if you can connect the hub to the unifan hub however it might be possible. I think that was more for the older Strimer plus but not too sure. Back then, those strimers couldn’t be controlled by lian li software so you have to physically change it via the buttons or plug it into your motherboard for control which meant it was limited. Connecting the new ones to the unifan hub would be pretty much useless since the unifan and the Strimer v2 is now controlled by lian li l connect. i noticed with the hub you didn't connect the fan header cable, is that because you just use the usb port/l connect 3 to manage it all? with perhaps the radiator fans you let it manage via radiator apps
@BuildsWithV2 жыл бұрын
Yeah that’s correct, I just use l connect to control the top, bottom and rear fans. The 3 fans in the radiator is plugged into the nzxt pump to control those separately from l connect in case I have issues with l connect at least those 3 cpu fans will continue to work.

The problem with these fans is the cable for the controller hub is too short. There are no longer cables available that I’ve found. I’ve emailed Lian Li multiple times asking about longer cables and they won’t respond.

it works like: 1 cable with max 4 fans in a row. not more :/ if u want more fans connected, u need a second cable. for example 3 fans 1 cable and 2 other fans with one more cable
@BuildsWithV2 жыл бұрын
You can daisy chain up to 6 fans with these fans.

i dont understand why i got a pack of three fans and a bunch of one pack for a total of ten fans, are the three pack fan are different then the solo fan because i cant plugs them together. i got two freakin different controller, so i can only plug one controller to my motherboard. im freaking out spending all that money for nothing
@BuildsWithV Жыл бұрын
Just use the extra cables from the 3 pack to connect them all to one controller. For the 10th fan you can plug it separately or buy another v2 cable from the 3 pack.

That AIO is upside down. The cables from the radiator need to be higher than the CPU. You’re creating air bubbles which could cause damages.
@BuildsWithV Жыл бұрын
That’s not correct. Air bubble can’t make it to the pump with this setup
@OkayGonzo_ Жыл бұрын
@@BuildsWithV I mean all the testing is there to prove it. But I’m just letting everyone know.
@BuildsWithV Жыл бұрын
@@OkayGonzo_ what testing? Did you do any research because you’ll find very quickly that this is actually one of the best ways to install it to avoid any air getting in the pump.
