Pro tip: Instead of doing the monotonous weaving process described in the video, tape one end of the cord to a chopstick (or pencil or anything thin and longish). I used a pen, which was the only thing I had. Although it worked, the “pocket clip” annoyingly kept snagging on the netting. Lay the netting on the floor with it spread out to make the “2 inch squares” and then thread the line through the alternate squares with the chopstick. Quick and easy peasy. Doing it this way only takes a couple minutes!

I'd suggest a net mending shuttle instead of the loose and long leach lines.

Ever considered using a netting needle?

Save yourself a lot of headaches threading the long lines! Daisy chain the lines first! This will greatly shorten the length of material you have to thread. It will also prevent tangles and knots in the line. I daisy chain electrical cord, and many other long flexible “lines”. It is virtually impossible to tangle them. This is also a great way to wash long lengths of line, halyards, dock line etc. Just make sure to secure the loose end so it doesn’t all unravel! You could figure eight the ends together.

The process is rather easy and time consuming, hire a teenager and just show him/her what you want they are often glad to do this type of work. I often get my older kids to do the job for a set wage.
