So my last Tesla Model 3 Performance got totaled. Unfortunately, some lady just hit me at intersection which she got ticketed for. In my last Tesla I used this video which was the best video on KZbin. I'm doing it all over again and this is still the best video. Thank you!
@SkeenDogger Жыл бұрын
Looked through a few videos and I'm at this very moment using your video while pausing step by step. Thanks! Using H&R srpings on mine. One thing that would be helpful is telling what size socket you need to grind down for the front strut. Its 13mm but you wouldn't know otherwise being you cant test fit the socket on the nut. Thanks again. You had the best video.

I do the same. But I just showed proof that by lowering you will get better range. We took a 2300 mile trip the week after I got my 3 and taking another 1000 mile trip soon. So that $400 spring coat will be replaced with saving on long trips.

@Busaryder11652 жыл бұрын
@@bryanhigh5628 any car modifications only void warranty on the part it affects if it was the problem. So if your ecu goes out then they can’t void based on lowering springs. But if your shock goes bad early Tesla could say because you lowered it.

Those are some nice looking springs. I used to have a lowered Eclipse, and still have my '92 Laser AWD Turbo - which I never lowered. Now, the eclipse got really tiring climbing into. Even the Laser is still on the floor without being lowered. I got the Y performance. That's as low as its going to go. My knees aren't getting any younger!!!

In my opinion, the only way it makes sense to lower your Model 3 is with an air ride suspension like the Model S and Model X. So you can raise the car when you need to. Sandy Munro says Tesla made provision for future installation of them, eventually the aftermarket will offer them.

Thanks for the info and video. Is there any way to know which model of springs you installed? I have a new Y, and I saw some folks didnt like the drop it gave. I love your stance, I think it perfect. Also Ian is located where? I hear him adding some french in the vid. I am from Montreal.

Hi Pierre, thanks! Thanks for noting, we really should have mentioned in the conclusion that an alignment is required afterwards to ensure nothing has been significantly disturbed, although I told Trev he's be OK to get it done upon his return home.

Do you know the torque you used for the nut that screws onto the strut and spring plate? Also curious on the torque of the 3 13mm nuts on the strut tower. I started this last weekend and let my dad bolt the strut plate onto the strut while I grabbed us some water. He broke the strut because he didn't hand tighten it. Had to find the strut on ebay. Luckily, the strut had less miles than my car so it'll technically be less used. Any help would be greatly appreciated so that we don't mess up again.

@@Slowjo1221 No I didn't, but I ended up hand tightening until it felt tight. Dropped the car, drove around the block, heard clunks, tightened some more and it went away. Drove it for like another 30k miles like that with no issues. Sorry I couldn't help more.

So are you doing to track your car more often, is that why you are doing this? Because I've never understood the lowering craze for street cars that are never tracked. My stock Model 3 is low enough and bottoms on some roads in my area, especially driveways, so I wouldn't do this. Plus I'd be concerned about the tires bottoming out and rubbing inside the fender wells.
