when i go to format the card on windows there is not an option for FAT or FAT32 it is just NTSC and exFAT and when i go to update the canon eos M on the 2.0.2 it says Memory card containing firmware is required to update. i press okay and it doesnt update or nothing. Help please Thanks!

Format sd card in eos m, it will become fat32, and you can continue the ML installation.

@@LoremIpsum497 Try another card. I have a Sandisk Extreme PRO 170mb/s 64GB. It is SDXC V30 card and works fine, try to get something similar. Maybe borrow from someone first to see if the formatting will work. Good luck.

I`ve been sending messages all night and nobody is responding. I can`t be the only person in the world with this problem. Thanks! It gives you the option to overclock the SD card so depending on the SD card you use you can get fairly fast speeds.

Sooooo Great video!!!! Ok so I’m here because I keep getting ‘Movie was stopped automatically’ after like 3 second, runs down the frame buffers, and boom back to the start. What SD cards are you using exactly? Tried all sorts x fat etc etc on computer on phone format m, still the same issue. Any ideas please?

It won't work on the Canon M50, most magic lantern builds are built around older Canon cameras.

I screwed up and didn't use an extreme pro SD card to download Magic Lantern onto my Canon EOS M. Now it'll only record for a few seconds. Can I just pop an Extreme Pro SD card in there or is there some procedure I need to follow?

You'll need to install Magic Lantern onto your new Extreme Pro SD card and boot it again from your camera. That should get you up and running!

For some reason it won't let me update to the 2.0.2 firmware. I've tried from both the link in your description as well as the link from the Magiclantern website. After copying the file over to the formatted SD Card when I hit "update camera firmware" in the menu it doesn't give me the option to update, but instead says "Memory card containing firmware is required to update". I've tried multiple SD cards but always have the same issue. I also looked at trying to update the firmware via Canon EOS Utility but it won't let me download the app with my current "MacOS Monterey Version 12.3". I'm at a bit of a dead end and wondered if you can make any suggestions?

Yeah, 2.0.2 is still the firmware you need on the eos m for the most stable builds of ML, including the new crop mood. Hope this helps!

Make sure your EOS M is in the photo mode in the Canon menu and go to the last menu tab. Near the bottom you should see a firmware option. When you click on it it will give you the option to update firmware. Hope this helps!

I think if you find a the canon 2.0.2 driver and download it, you should be able to install it to your eos m via the canon camera utility app. You'll hit update software and I think 2.0.2 should override the 2.0.3 version.

I do not think it is a good idea to install Magic Lantern on a FAT32 filesystem. FAT32 are limited to a 32GB partition size and a maximum of 4gb filesize each file. For RAW recording this is not ideal. You guys who are having problems with exFAT need to figure out what the problem is. Maybe issue is MacOS in regards to formatting and copying files over to SD Card.
