For anyone having trouble with the letterbomb freezing. I had to restart, but I fixed it. My problem was that I forgot to select 4.3U on the letterbomb website, Because I'm in the US. The other 4.3E, 4.3J, and 4.3k are for Europe, and I think Japan, I'm not sure what the k is for though. After I selected the correct region it worked. Hope this helps anyone struggling with it right now.

I'm having trouble with the opening the letterbomb part. I did everything like in the tutorial, but when I got to the message board to click on the letter bomb, the Wii just freezes. It doesn't go into a black screen or anything, it just freezes. I've tried unplugging and re-plugging the Wii to try again several times, but each time I get the same result. As far as I can see, nobody's really asked about this issue, so I don't know what to do at this point. If someone has a solution to this, please let me know. I really wanted to play on these custom tracks in Mario Kart Wii.

Since I don't have an SD card slot on my PC, I used an old camera that has an SD card slot and hooked it up to my PC with the USB cable that came with it so that I could install the files on the SD card. What I did to get it to work was to download a wbfs version of mario kart wii and then add it to the wii backup manager program then convert the wbfs file into an ISO file. After that I copied the new ISO version of the game into the CTGP program then ran the create.bat that matches the region of the ISO (mine was a USA ISO so I selected create-usa.bat and let it run. When it was finished converting the Mario Kart ISO to the CTGP modded version then I simply opened up wii backup manager and added the modded version, then finally transferred it to my USB thumbdrive. It may sound complicated but it's really not that hard. There are plenty of videos on this topic as well as forums that discuss troubleshooting issues. I watched a lot of videos on this and couldn't get it to work. It's was probably errors on my part and had nothing to do with the tutorials.

It's porpousley made to give error, Bean made like that to avoid hackers on online matches, if you wanna play on wbfs file the only version you can play is v1.01, it's very old and doesn't worth, sadly only works with a Wii, a Mario Kart Wii disc and a sd, sorry man but there's no way to play latest versions of ctgp-r.

The reason why it didn’t work is because if you use an SDHC sd card, it has to be formatted as fat 32, otherwise it doesn’t work

Every time I do the installation it just gets stuck on "initialising network". I have restarted my Wii multiple times, uninstalled and reinstalled ctgp AND even formatted my Wii to get rid of all the homebrew mods I did. Any help would be great thanks.

No actually, you can create a new licence no matter how old the system is and you can still play

It HAS to be 4.3, the Wii won't recognise the files if on an older version.

Not really. If you have the homebrew channel, simply put ctgp-r on your SD and launch it from the homebrew channel.

I have been trying this process with a different setup. I am using a MicroSD with 2GB of memory inside a MicroSD adapter, and with my phone, since I don't have a SD reader for my PC. I have been trying it for several times, removed archives from the card and put them back in right after, but no success on making the Bomb letter to appear. I've checked the MAC address of my Wii and it is the same I am putting in the Hackmii website.

I think the problem here is that you’re using a micro sd card and not a regular one, as ctgp will only detect regular sd cards in that slot. I also recommend buying a sd to usb drive for your pc for it to read properly

Your SD Card has to be in the Wii when you play, it won't work otherwise. If you're thinking of using a mobile SD, i'd just recommend buying another SD.

Use the DNS method, it works better and you need no SD card to set it up. Hope this helps.

@@sebastiannnb the dns method only lets you play the regular 32 mario kart wii tracks online by changing your wii's dns settings. You dont get custom tracks whatsoever
