Just a suggestion.... the bracket with 8 screws that holds the old vents in.... you can grind out the inner back lip with a Dremel or rotozip and cut the fins off the outside of the new vents. Then you can screw the bracket in to the dash with the new vents and hot glue or super glue them in if you wish. They are so secure, you almost don't even need glue because they sit in there nice and snug. I've done 2 Stingers so far and it only takes an extra 10 minutes or so.

That's how I did it as well. Much cleaner looking too with the OEM bezels.

I used hot glue to hold mine in place. Only time will tell if the cured hot glue will hold up to extreme temperatures. But for me hot glue seemed better than super glue. Looking back on it I would've used something like loctite extreme glue. Also I tapped into the interior light fuse. The lights come on when you unlock the doors and go off when lock the doors. They also go off after about 10 minutes or so once the car goes to sleep if you forget to lock your doors.

The vents look awesome for sure, but I’m not a fan of the cutting and gluing. (No pun intended lol) I wish they made a direct replacement. Good video tho 👊 clear cut directions

If the air vents reset back to red every time I turn the car off and it doesn't remember the color I had previously, is the a box issue ir a wiring issue?
@jorgerocha35453 жыл бұрын
Trying to understand the purpose of the grinding/cutting if they aren't being slid into spot. I'm considering trying to return these as there is a slight gap when put in place. Wasnt expecting that at all when they were purchased. Since there was mention of cutting the tabs, I thought that these vents would actually overlap the dash panel creating a sort of bezel, but they do not.
@timmorales51143 жыл бұрын
They slide back into the old bracket. When you screw the bracket into the back of the dash the vents are sandwiched in there and can't hardly move. There's no need for gluing if you don't want to. I did just as a precautionary measure.
@jorgerocha35453 жыл бұрын
@@timmorales5114 do you happen to have any images of how you retrofitted the vents into the bracket?
@timmorales51143 жыл бұрын
@@jorgerocha3545 No unfortunately, I didn't take pictures. I did mine a couple weeks ago and then I did my friends stinger on Saturday. It just seems a lot more secure than gluing the new vents into the back of the dash.

@@timmorales5114 did you have to trim the new vents I don't have a tool to do this wondering if it's necessary.
@timmorales51142 жыл бұрын
@@CarCrazyGhost Yes, you do have to trim the fins on the edge of the new vents to get them to fit. And it is a snug fit. I suppose you could cut them with a sharp razor knife, but it would be a pain.
