I have the Denso's that were sent in the full JB4 kit for my 2018 G80. I gapped them down to .024 running MAP 3 with 91 E30 mix, stock intakes, stock exhaust, car runs freaking mint with no cutout hitting 19+ psi. Pulls very strong with no codes thrown and logs look great. Will try MAP 4 soon with JB4 intakes and same E30 mix👌🤘

Those of you who are saying great video are lying to you. This was honestly the worst and least informative video I have seen on this particular topic. You can't make a video titled JB4 Maps explained and requirements and then say you either don't know what that means, like you did with map 8, or say something that only showed me you had no idea what you were talking about. It is recommended that you run .022 or .020 gapped spark plugs no matter what map you are using with the JB4. Next you don't need E30 to run map 3 and up like you stated. Map 3 E30 is an option you can also use octane boosters as well, map 4 you need E30 or a good race fuel and Map 5 literally tells you that E85 mixes may not be suitable for that map. Then Obviously Map 6 is user adjustable so you don't need E30 there either and Map 7 is solely based on WMI so again no need for E30 and Map 8 you definitely don't want to run E30. And since you stated you had no idea what it meant let me help you out. Map 8 is a valet map which runs half as much boost as stock. This means the car accelerates slower because the turbos aren't pumping out stock psi numbers. you would use this map when you were going to let someone else use your car, such as dropping it off at a dealer or something along those lines and you don't want them joy riding in it. Then when you were reading some of the maps it sounded like this was your first time reading them and then trying to explain it to us on the fly. I don't mean to be an ass but my god this was just terrible in more ways than one not to mention the phone numbers popping up on screen, idk who that person is or why they are sending you movies via imessage nor is that my business but if I was that person and I started getting weird texts and calls because of this video I would beat you senseless.

So kinda confused, I had a camaro ss 1le and needed a flex fuel sensor along with a tune to run e85 as it requires more fuel. In this case with E30 does the JB4 know to add more fuel based on the Ethanol content percentage? Here in Arizona the E85 is actually E60 and we only have 91 here. So according to a E85 calculator I would need 9 Gallions of 91 and 6 gallons of E60 to get me to E29.
@stinger_gt2192 жыл бұрын
Well if you want to get accurate reading. I would recommend getting the flex fuel sensor. But no jb4 doesn’t push more fuel. 93/91 already has a bit of ethanol but your car pushes e30 fast enough to run more boost without losing power. Anything higher than that it’ll bug I remember I had e40ish without the cpi kit and it was having trouble around 110. The flex fuel kit has an amazing calculator and will figure things out for you. I’ll do a video tomorrow to help you

@garywilliams7319 Жыл бұрын
I’ve run 87 octane for years with my 2018 GT2 with no problems. I switch around depending on how I’m going to drive my car. So you could be right about the knock sensor, depending on how you drive. All it does is pull timing advance if it detects preignition. Normal driving vs racing requires different levels of octane, like it says in the Stingers owner’s manual. 93 octane DOESN’T have more energy than 87 octane. That’s why running 93 won’t improve your gas mileage over 87 under the same conditions. Now, 93 will allow the engine to make more HP only because the higher octane allows the ECU to run more timing advance on demand while avoiding preignition. Increased octane doesn’t make more energy, it just has higher ability to AVOID preignition and allows for more spark advance. E85 per government regulations can be anywhere from 51% to 83% ethanol(about 105-112 octane) so unless you use a test kit at the pump, you will not know what percentage of ethanol you are pumping at the “E85” pump. So the long and short of it, unless you hot rod all the time, using 93 octane in you Stinger is leaving a lot of money on the table for no benefit in return. Sorry for the long comment but a lot of people may not understand the difference between the two.@@lilman227
@lilman227 Жыл бұрын
@@garywilliams7319 I totally understand ya. I absolutely agree that higher octane does not equate to more power in the fuel. (Actually, E85 has less). With the engine loaded between 2k and 4.5k rpm is where I usually see knock if I run regular gas. We do test the E85 in my area pretty regularly, and post results in our group. Lots of test kits, and flex fuel sensors. One more annoying thing to throw into the mix is atmospheric pressure in your area. I’m below sea level, so there’s more energy per combustion at a given throttle amount. The only way you can get better fuel economy on higher octane fuel is either when the engine is on the knock sensor with lower octane, or if you adjust the tune for efficiency through the cam phasers and ignition timing. As for adding power by running something like an E30 blend, this effectively “stretches” your fuel system if you don’t have a tune for it. This is because the stoich of e85 is way different (9.8:1 vs 14.7:1)

The reason I like the race Chip because it "doesn't" require you to add different gas or any mods to gain HP but there's been story's where they have mis fires. Theres this one where this guy bought a i30n when they came out but he couldn't have it tuned because no one done one for it since it was new. The answer was getting a race Chip and it did gain HP but he ended up getting mis fires and I'm pretty sure it was because of the race Chip. Idk if he changed the spark plugs. I rewatch the and I think the problem was the high pressure fuel pump. I'm not a geek at this but I'll link the two videos. The second one is where he explains why were they having a problem. Race Chip kzbin.info/www/bejne/r3_cZaR6aLaeY7c Motec ECU kzbin.info/www/bejne/l5rQaIGImb1sr5o
@stinger_gt2193 жыл бұрын
misfires are caused because you are making more boost and the stock spark plugs aren't gapped right and don't give a colder spark, leads to misfires, also in most cases depending on the extra boost you are trying to get it'll require a mix so that it burns better. again so it doesn't lead to misfires at higher RPMs. I'm sure his misfires could've been since he had stock sparkplugs. Map1 doesn't require a lot but anything over that will recommend upgrades so that you don't run into those exact issues.
