People have talked about scratching the finish on their firearms I just wrapped a piece of paper around mine and slid the shot shall carrier over and then pulled the paper out. Problem solved.

Thanks for this video! Just installed the Mesa Tactical Sureshell Polymer Shotshell with Rail on my new Remington Tac-14. It turned out AWESOME! I used a sheet of wax paper to slide the rail over the Tac-14 and onto the mounting holes and there wasn't a single scratch on the firearm... I'm super happy with the way it looks and knowing that I have those six extra shells is just great! Thanks again... Thumbs up from me... Stay safe... Rico

Ricovette did you have problems with inserting the front Chicago Screw? I’ve got a Tac 14 with Arm Brace and I can’t get that screw in....only a 1/3 if it inserts. Feels like an obstruction is there. I fiddled with it for a good hour but couldn’t insert it all the way?

Thanks bro, finally a good instruction video.

Kiwi Bushcraft And Survival you are welcome. I couldn't find any good ones either.

I like reading the comments as these are very informative and instructional. Now for my question: I own the Tactical 14 versión but mine is the 20 gage. Is the shell carrier the same for the 12 and 20 gage?
@dasllamas5 жыл бұрын
Product only says 12 ga. Does not mention 20 ga

FYI : you can use a painters tape (blue kind) to cover the inside of the rail attachment piece to protect the finish of the shotgun.

I’m having major difficulty with the front Chicago screw not able to push it in. My 870 is a Tac 14 with an arm brace... does that matter?

What is the white rubber looking tube that came with your rail? I noticed you didn't use it at all.
@dasllamas5 жыл бұрын
Wasn't used in the instructions for the 870. This kit fits a couple different platforms

Good vid thanks. I removed the front “clip” from the trigger assembly and the chicago just slipped right in. All in all 10-15 install.

Glad it went so easy. I felt the need to make this video because at the time I couldn't find any other videos showing this install. Thanks for the view and the comment!

Greta video. Does this work with regular rifled sights on the Remington 870?
@dasllamas2 жыл бұрын
Yes. The front rifle sight on mine is the stock one

Only issues here is the lose of zero on any optic you place on this rail. Every time you take it apart to properly clean it zero will be altered.

So everytime you want to clean your trigger you need to take it off and put it back on right? Sucks for the scratching your finish.
@dasllamas5 жыл бұрын
Honestly i have not done a full teardown since I put this on but I rarely shoot it. To get the trigger out you can pop the pins and leave the rail in place

Did your barrel come threaded from the muzzle break ?
@dasllamas2 жыл бұрын
It depends on wich model 870 you buy. Some come threaded some do not. Mine originally was not and had the bead sight so I bought a new barrel so I could add a choke or the break
@mrmandog0k3526 ай бұрын
If you put thread locker can you still get into the trigger housing?
@josecabrera75545 ай бұрын
Blue 242 is my go to threadlocker for this its strong enough to maintain tightness but it isnt difficult to unscrew

I'm having a hard time with the Chicago screws. I can't see where you lined them up. I used my other two screws in the back near the trigger, but my Chicago screws aren't working and the manual said to remove clip and keep it with the trigger pins then install the Chicago screws, but you didn't do that, right? Can you help, please? Thanks.
@dasllamas6 жыл бұрын
It has been some time since I did this install. The Chicago pins were the hardest part of this thing. I would have to sit and watch my video again to give you a better answer but I’m not in a place where I can do that right now. This video showed ever step I did to do the install. The cutout at about the 5 minute marks was when I struggled with the Chicago pins getting lined up. Was a matter of making sure the trigger assembly and the rail were all lined up. I don’t recall what I did with the clip you are asking about.
@32icon6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for responding. No worries. I have the same shotgun as you and like the manual said, I had to remove the clip from the trigger bar in order to install the chicago pins. Once I did that, they installed like a charm! Thanks again

Had the same issue with my 870 tactical...I had removed the pins before installing the c-screws. I put the original pins back in and then pushed the Chicago screw through with no problem.

I'm trying to decide on tactical 870 express or tactical 590
@dasllamas7 жыл бұрын
david ivey the express tactical is alright. I feel the best deal for the 870 series is the tactical magpul series. Not a fan of the pistol grip but it has the rails already installed. It saves the step of installing this system unless you want the shell carrier. You can get the carrier w/o rails The 870 and the mossberg 590 are the common staples for the 12ga pump shotgun. I don't like the safety location on the mossberg. I would stick to one of these if it is your first shotty. Pump shotties are nice because you can shoot anything through them and not have to worry about proper recoil in the semi auto shotguns.

I don't understand why you "skipped" the front screw you had trouble with- and edited that out. That' exactly the kind of thing we want to see solved, and how you solved it. You also were grabbing various screws without identifying them to the camera- we don't know if you first tried the OEM pin, then switched to Chicago and ultimately what you used. Make sense?
@dasllamas2 жыл бұрын
Yeah makes sense. Sorry I did this install a long time ago and done remember which pin was used
@T_2102 жыл бұрын
@@dasllamas No worries. On mine, the aft trigger screw didn't use a Chicago-screw, it used a silver fastener (slug- female on each end) in the kit that's a slightly larger diameter than the Chicago screw. I did use the Chicago on the forward end of the trigger fasteners. It bugs me because I try to be meticulous working on guns, and the Mesa instructions don't mention the larger aft fastener, even though it was in the kit. Hope this chat helps someone else.
