Great video on install …. I bought different floor boards and needed help so thanks. Detail / info great

Really nicely done video! Easy to follow, very instructive, and none of the "I skipped ahead and did X" that sometimes happens in DIY videos. Also wish I had seen the SDC floorboards before I bought my Crossthreads ;-)

Sir you recieve an A+ !!! I wanted these Harley Brand mini Floorboards but the site says “Does not fit Softail” 😮 haha. I’ll look for these! Cool video
@mikep56472 жыл бұрын
Do they stay in place, as far as angle after after months of riding? All the ones if tried if you stood up the bolts would allow them to twist a bit.

I havent had any issues they seem to be in the same spot since I installed em

Got a video for the passenger pegs? I didn’t see one in you video list. And nice content by the way. Short and sweet. I get tired of these dudes that have soooo much b roll when I just want to check out some floor boards or pegs lol

Hey what’s up man, I have the passenger footpegs in gold but didn’t do a video on them. The install is about the same and my lady loves em. Lol I feel ya on the extended b roll segments 😂

Please tell me what you like about the boards vrs pegs. And they appear to rock, not like-man those things rock,, but actually rock . Do they? That should make shifting easier, right?
@TryItWithTim3 жыл бұрын
I love the mini floorboards for daily riding and long trips. Overall I feel more secure on the bike and I can stand on them like an adventure bike. Shifting is no problem at all and they do not “rock” You can flip them up just like regular pegs.

I'm considering these for sure. I don't like the spiky bmx bicycle types as I don't wear sneakers when I ride. I heard the vibration comes through when your at higher speeds. Have you found this to be true and uncomfortable on the highway? Thanks dude!
@TryItWithTim10 ай бұрын
Hey whats up. My buddies that have the spikey floorboards do say the vibration is noticeable. These ones have been perfect for me, and are very smooth on the highway.

do they stick out further than the stock pegs? Will having them reduce your lean angle before scraping ?
@TryItWithTim3 жыл бұрын
They dont stick out any further, and unlike the stock pegs they dont have that metal piece that scrapes when you lean a bit too much. If anything these are just a hair higher off the ground then stock

@@TryItWithTim p.s I know the bits you mean that point down, the “ wear pegs”. They can be taken off the stock pegs easily, either when they wear down and you want fresh ones, or if people don’t like them. I kind like them in a way as they act as a little warning 😀
@TryItWithTim3 жыл бұрын
@@Crowbar381 didn’t know that thanks! exactly I like them too and I was about to say if you scrape on these floorboards your probably going to lose traction

Great choice! I was considering the ones from Crossthread Cycle, but I’m thinking that the ones you picked up look cleaner. Not so “BMX” ish. It’s all subjective tho 😁Great Video man. Thanks for being thorough.
@TryItWithTim3 жыл бұрын
It was between Crossthreads and these for me as well. My buddies have crossthread but I did not want that spiky feeling. These SDCs are awesome as they provide tons of grip without the BMX aesthetic. Glad you enjoyed it bro!

Yo how’s the Memphis shades sport fairing holding up I’m really considering sport shield as well never had a fairing on my sportster or my lowrider
@TryItWithTim3 жыл бұрын
I'm still lovin it and it adds just the right amount of protection for the longer road trips. Im also interested in trying the next size up for more protection. If you still like the feel of the wind and just want a little more protection and a minimalistic look than I would definitely recommend my sport shield.

Cool man thx for posting. Got Thrashin Supply militant pegs and honestly did not like them because they were awkward under your boots if you had any type of heel. It put your feet too far back and couldn’t reach the rear brake comfortably. So, time to reach out to SD Customs. The tool to remove the snap rings are called snap ring pliers (if that’s what you referred to in the video?). I used them on mine and honestly they were a pain so just easier with a small flat head screwdriver to tap them off IMO. Did you do anything with the rear brake pedal btw? Why HD makes it like that is stupid. Foot can easily slide right off the stock ones.
@TryItWithTim2 жыл бұрын
I’m loving the mini floorboards and they comfortable with my boots. Thanks for the tip to remove the fasteners! Good luck with the SD customs , there was this other company too I considered with a mini floorboard shaped like a coffin which were dope. It’s a game changer from the HD pegs
