How to Install Mods on a 7 Days to Die Server

if your running a dedicated server (one hosted on your machine and not a third party) you simply need to create a "Mods" folder in the 7 Days To Die Dedicated Sever folder, the same way you would when modding the actual game install. As long as the mods your downloading specify that they are server side mods and dont need to be downloaded client side in their descriptions then the server itself is the only place they will need to be installed (the players themselves wont also need to have the mods installed) other wise your friends AND you will need to have the mods installed in the actual game directory along with them being installed in the server as well.

@@666Avrora server side mods, the mods that only contain "ModInfo.xml" files and nothing else are the only mods that do not need to be downloaded by anyone connecting. They don't automatically download anything because on their end there is nothing to be downloaded. I'm sure there are probably better ways out there but what i did when i made a server for my friends and I that had mods that they also needed themselves (any mods containing anything other than .txt or .xml files) i just used google drive to directly copy over my mods folder i was using after i had it set up and working so all they had to do was download that and just use it as their own mods folder. Its slow, but in some cases its easier than trying to walk someone through what mods they need and hope they don't fuck up the install on their end.

how do i download the mod client side and make them work for a dedicated server? im trying to get the mod wasteland on my dedicated server it says that it works for servers and single player worlds but ive been having one hell of a time

I'm using another server host but this was still really helpful. Much better than what my server operators provided although they are basically the cheapest around, so understandable a bit.

Okay so for me both me and my friends we have all the same mode and unzipped them and have them in the same folders. But it still says missing client file. Cannot view. Were on the same update and we have the same mods so not sure whats happening

Just make a file named nods in the 7 days to die dedicated server folder is what i did

Someone needs to make me a video showing how to install mods on a shockbyte server because I know what I am doing and it simply doesn't work, their tech support hasn't responded for three days so far and counting, so frustrating, works on my end, fike transfer works fine, then the server just ignores all the new files, help! Please lol
