I think the padding and the backing on carpet is thicker on factory carpet so the pre molding is better....I've used ACC for 30 years...it's good for cost ...I've got a 70 Chevell coming up for a money no object friend/customer stereo and interior redo...just hope I can find something he will be happy with...ACC I'm afraid he won't be a friend or a customer if I use that....lol
