I would be interested in seeing a short video on how the car now drives. Have the Revshift upper mounts made a difference and where you placed the shock adjustment ? Thinking of doing the same but leaving the shock at its softest setting. What's your opinion?
@MomentofZed
@MomentofZed 10 ай бұрын
The rear is solid, but not painfully so. Im happy with the adjustment i picked. Really shows how the front needs done! Mounts seem solid.

Did you use 10mm or 12mm Revshift shock mounts?

Great Job Mark! I've worked behind those seats when I replaced my soft top and it is a nightmare back there. Tight for tools, can't see anything and you got to be careful not to damage your seats and center console in the process. I need to do the rear shock reinforcement and I'm not looking forward to diving back there again.

Yep! Put my elbow thru the top cover for the subwoofer. But, it'll motivate me to mount a new sub up there.

Mark: I like your new mounts and I'm sure you'll like the new ride, good stuff / video as always... Removing the clips is probably the hardest part of the job. I replaced my clips with the type that use a screw driver to expand and collapse for easy removal. If I ever need to get back (e.g. soft top replacement) in there it will be a piece of cake. Removing the rear wheels isn't really necessary but the jack is needed for shock removal...

I'll bite on that one: Did you remove the rear wheel on the passenger side? I always try to look at the job like a mechanic who's flagging hours. Those guy's always get the same end results with the least amount of work. I learned that from my mechanic buddies... @@MomentofZed

Can you describe the feeling of the original shocks/mounts vs the new? I am in need of rear shocks and mounts as well.

Old were like a loose collection of parts somewhat functioning. New are solid but not harsh. Really highlight how bad I need to do the front.

The hardest part by far is getting my 71 year old very stiff body in position to remove the very stiff carpet!

How are you supporting yourself, your knees when working behind the seats to pull back carpet? I dont want to dig my knees into the seats our of fear of tearing.

@matreyia no doubt! I remember revshift recommends the black softer ones for the mounts. Have to keep that in mind, appreciate the advice!
