How to Install Oracle APEX 20.2 | DB 12cR1 | Windows 10

Today we are going to Install Oracle APEX 20.2 & ORDS 21.4 with Database 12c Release 1 in Windows 10 InshaAllah.

a. Create folder with name "12cR1_20.2" under this folder we create 2 folder with name "DB" & "ords".
b. Download ORDS 21.4 from this link

c. Unzip ords 21.4 in a folder "ords" (C:\12cR1_20.2\ords), so you do not need to copy & paste it (ords)
d. Unzip "apex_20.2" in "12cR1_20.2" folder (C:\12cR1_20.2), so you do not need to copy & paste it (apex)
Java version is Java 8 update 211
e. Run database setup with "Administrator" rights.
f. I do not wish to receive Security Updates.
g. Create & configure a database.
h. Desktop Class.
i. Use Windows Built-in Account (you can use other option as well)
j. Click on "Browse" button & assign installation folder for "Oracle base" (C:\12cR1_20.2\DB)
k. Assign "Global Database Name, Pass.., Confirm Pass.., & uncheck "Create as Container database" option.
l. Hit "Install" button.
m. Click on "Password Management" button, Unlock "HR, & SCOTT" & provide pass.. for SYS, SYSTEM, HR, & SCOTT
n. Open cmd.
o. Reach apex directory in Database 12cR1 home. (C:\12cR1_20.2\DB\product\12.1.0\dbhome_1\apex)
p. Run sqlplus /nolog
q. Connect with sys / as sysdba
r. Check sga_max_size by running this command
show parameter sga;
if less than 3000m then increase it by running this command
ALTER SYSTEM SET MEMORY_TARGET = 4000M SCOPE=SPFILE;
s. Shut down database by running this command (we shutdown database to reflect the changes we did it in sga_max_size)
shut immediate;
t. Start it by running this command
startup
u. Check sga_max_size again by running this command
show parameter sga;
v. Oracle APEX 4.2 is available by default, check it while running this command
SELECT username, account_status
FROM dba_users
WHERE username LIKE 'APEX%'; uninstall it while running this command
@apxremov.sql
w. Remain in cmd & reach where apex folder is available
x. Run sqlplus /nolog
y. Connect as sys as sysdba
z. Install apex by running this command
@apexins sysaux sysaux temp /i/
za. Run @apxchpwd.sql, username is "ADMIN", provide email, & pass.. from your choice.
zb. Run @apex_rest_config.sql (provide pass.. for APEX_LISTENER, & APEX_REST_PUBLIC_USER)
zc. Run this command
ALTER USER APEX_PUBLIC_USER IDENTIFIED BY oracle ACCOUNT UNLOCK;
zd. Open cmd again with "Administrator" rights & reach where ords is available.
ze. Run this command java -jar ords.war install advanced.
zf. Provide Configuration path & hit "Enter" button. "C:\12cR1_21.1\ords"
zg. Enter number for... [1]: Hit "Enter" button.
zh. Database server is [localhost]: Hit "Enter" button
zi. Enter listen port [1521]: Hit "Enter" button, my port is 1521 your port will be different.
zj. Specify Database SID [1]: provide option "2" & hit "Enter" button, my database SID is "orcl12"
zk. Enter 1 if you want to verify... [1]: Hit "Enter" button.
zl. Enter pass.. & Confirm pass.. for ORDS_PUBLIC_USER
zm. Enter administrator username, pass.., & Confirm pass...
zn. Enter the default... [SYSAUX]: Hit "Enter" button.
zo. Enter the temporary... [TEMP]: Hit "Enter" button.
zp. Enter the default... ORDS_PUBLIC_USER [SYSAUX]: Hit "Enter" button.
zq. Enter the temporary... ORDS_PUBLIC_USER [TEMP]: Hit "Enter" button.
zr. If using Oracle Application Express or migrating from... [1]: Hit "Enter" button
zs. Enter the PL/SQL Gateway... [APEX_PUBLIC_USER]: Hit "Enter" button.
zt. Specify pass.., & Confirm pass.. for APEX_PUBLIC_USER.
zu. Enter 1 to specify pass.. for Application Express... [1]: Hit "Enter" button, specify pass.., & Confirm Pass.. for both "APEX_LISTENER" & "APEX_REST_PUBLIC_USER".
zv. Enter a number to select a feature to enable [1] SQL Developer Web... [1]: Hit "Enter" button.
zw. Go to apex folder copy "images" folder from "C:\12cR1_20.2\apex" & paste it to "C:\12cR1_20.2\ords"
zx. Enter 1 if you wish to start in standalone mode... [1]: Hit "Enter" button
zy. Enter the APEX static resources...: Provide "image" path "C:\12cR1_20.2\ords\images"
zz. Enter 1 if using HTTP.... [1]: Hit "Enter" button.
zza. Enter the HTTP Port [8080]: Hit "Enter" button or define from your choice.
zzb. Open cmd with administrator rights, reach where ORDS folder is available (C:\12cR1_20.2\ords) & run this command "java -jar ords.war", when "Oracle REST Data Services initialized" appear use Oracle APEX, minimize cmd do not close it.
