Thanks for watching! Let me know in the comments if you prefer self-adhering or nail-down underlayment?

WIth so many underlayment options, every company seems to use a different one, how do I pick the right material? I'm also hearing mixed recommendations whether to do direct to deck stick and peel or not, some actually do hot mop on top of stick and peel, seems a little rediculous to do that. What do you recommend?

How does that work on steep roofs ? Wondering because even with tiger paw sometimes its slippery when foggy mornings

This stuff is pretty good on steep roofs. It has a rubbery surface on it. Any underlayment gets slippery with morning dew or frost, but this stuff is definitely one of our favorites when it comes to grip.

Can this Polystick underlayment be used for a composition asphalt 3-tab shingle installation and serve as the membrane between the OSB plywood and the asphalt shingle? Looking to use it for a patio cover (LA Area) with a shingled slightly sloped roof, instead of doing torch-down.

It can. Depending on the slope, however it's not really needed. If the slope is 2/12-4/12 the code requires double layer of underlayment. above 4/12 1 layer of underlayment Anything under 2/12 your not allowed to install shingles. Now being that its a patio cover you can probably install shingles if its 1/12-2/12. However I wouldn't recommend it. If you go that route a self adhered underlayment would be a good idea. I would recommend a ice and water shields, its a similar membrane to this.

how does this compare to installing torch down as underlayment for S or Mission tiles
@RoofRepairSpecialist2 жыл бұрын
I think its a pretty comparable product for a fraction of the cost. If you install 2 layers of this product that would be a killer roof.

If you install one layer of the MTS Plus, how many times can you go over it the future with the same kind of underlayment?
@RoofRepairSpecialist2 жыл бұрын
Not sure if there is a specific rule or code on that. I wouldn't think there would be a problem to go 2-3 times.
