@@scottykilmer Do I wire the inverter to the car battery or my second storage battery
@rockodonnie Жыл бұрын
SAME 😉

I used to be a truck driver. I used inverters which ran case cooler, lap top, and other small items. All semis have many batteries, designed for people living in their trucks. My point is these inverters use lots of juice from batteries, and will run them down quickly. Just the same as leaving you headlights on without the car running. I would not use these inverters for cars without the engine running the whole time, unless you want a dead battery,

I've been binge watching this channel for a week straight! I've since, changed my alternator, brakes, brake master cylinder, and used your screw driver technique for bleeding the brakes because my girlfriend kept letting the pedal up before I could tighten the lines at the master cylinder...."prefer to work alone" should've taken that note! A genuine thanks Scotty!!

If you want to power computers, it's best to spend more and get a pure sine wave inverter (used in solar power setups). They more closely match household current, unlike modified sine wave inverters.
@davidjames6667 жыл бұрын
Scotty, I like your glasses. I used my inverter when we had a black out. I ran an extension cord up the garage, and basement, and to a few lamps in the living room, stairs, and bathroom. I used a few LED bulbs, and we were all very happy for a few nights. I monitored the voltage and when we used the car during the daytime, it charged the battery for that night. Is a very useful device to have.
@brianpiper31887 жыл бұрын
simhopp If Scotty wasn't strictly talking inverters, I would agree with you. Switching from DC to AC and back is inefficient.

Brian Piper- How do you think laptop car chargers work? The power that comes out of the charging brick is probably 19V, the computer works off 12v DC [most].
