(Problem Solved): If your controller isn’t working despite showing up in REbirth configuration menu, all you have to do is disable Steam Overlay, and/or add an exception in Windows Defender for REbirth. 6:39 (Old comment) Great video! installing the REbirth mod completely messes up the graphics in the game. When the characters move around they leave a trail behind them and all the background textures are messed up. Im on Windows 11, anyone know if theres a fix?

OOOhhh I figured it out, thanks for the replies! I have a NVIDIA graphics card but a AMD motherboard integrated graphics. I had my monitor plugged into the motherboard, not the graphics card (Duh)! I feel dumb but leaving this comment here incase someone else has the same issue as me. I just switched the monitor cable to the graphics card ports and it worked

If people don't want this game on their desktop or want to navigate to the folder its in you can do the following. Manage Installation > Configure > Features > Add another executable / arguments > add the new .exe file > make it the default executable. You can now launch it via GoG like normal

Hey! First things first: Thanks for the guide! I'm sure it helped alot of folks to experience Resident Evil PC version in the best way possible. Anyway, I just wanted to let people know: It actually is working with Intel UHD Graphics! Mods, such as Deadly Silence by LGboy also work without any issues. But just to be sure: install Japanese version of the game, just to be safe. Man, am I glad that I decided to give it a shot. Have fun yall!

I don't believe that's accurate. When you select different languages, it pulls a different build of the game. People who have early access may have only used the English build, which is the US ISO. They may have ripped either the Japanese Sourcenext or Mediakite versions and you may be able to access them if you select Japanese language in GOG Galaxy. We just need to wait and see.

Because merely releasing the games on Steam wouldn't solve the compatibility problem. That's what GOG does, that's their entire business model. They're not just a distributor, they make compatibility wrappers and make it so you can launch the games on modern machines at all. Steam just distributes the games and leaves it up to the developers themselves.

For some reason, I get lots of glitched textures when I play REbirth 1. I've installed it to the Japanese copy of the original as well as the new GOG version with the same result. However, the standalone GOG version runs perfectly with no setup. Really wish it had quick-turn & reload buttons though

apparently this is caused by how AMD cards handle direct3d3 calls, while the GOG version uses a directx9 wrapper. According to the classicREbirth website, he's been working on a directx9 update himself, but no ETA on when it will release. there's a suggestion to use dgVoodoo2 in the troubleshooting section for the mod, but I haven't been able to get it to work Guess I'm gonna stick to emulation for now, at least the SourceNext ports of 2 and 3 work flawlessly

I've followed this tutorial and it still doesn't work. My game screen stutters/flickers and the game eventually crashes as I'm unable to make out the menu or even make into the gameplay itself. I do have a Nvidia graphics card.

Excellent guide. Quick rundown of why things are the way they are, what files are needed, and clear communication on how to install those files. As much a good job that GoG has done, some decisions to use the PC sources over the PS version are a bit weird - lower quality fmvs, for example. I hope that RE2 & 3 will be compatible with existing mods, or at least have existing mods be easily adapted for them, since at least RE2 is confirmed to be based on the PC version of the game in an interview from Suzi with GoG (again, with lower quality fmvs). For some reason mine is horrifically bugged now, the visuals now have black squars over any rendered textures and the characters have this huge pixel drag/ghosting effect with they run. It worked fine before patching not sure what is wrong maybe I need to just reinstall it all together.
