This channel has helped me so much since moving into our 60s bungalow. This channel has given me the confidence to rip out the whole bathroom and re-fit a new one! I'm going to tackle a new central heating system off my new found confidence thanks to this channel. Just need to find a plumber who will move my boiler and is happy with me doing the donkey work.

Bit of a backwards way to to it. Not a bad way but usually you put the tap in position first and pipe it up. You can then pattress the wall, recessing between the studs to give you your 9mm clearances you lost. 👍🏻

Can you mount the tap to the front of the ply? That way you only have say 6mm hardibacker and 15mm for the tile and adhesive to negotiate
@darrensmith7304 Жыл бұрын
I’m honestly don’t remember now sorry. The one I was doing there was no way to mount other than the threads. If they’d had fixings to surface mount onto a ply pattress it would have been easy

Hardibacker brand name, is cement board. Rigid and can carry heavier weight tiles than plaster board. Can be tiled directly on to. Can also be used (as I have) as a liner for a fireplace as it is entirely noncombustible!
