I would love some advice, got a rad very similar to this which does not get properly hot, its more warm and not all vertical pipes same warmth. The trv pin is stiff but to be fair so are some on other rads in the house which get mega hot. Ive had it balanced once before but didnt do the trick. Its as if it starts heating up and then shuts off and then starts again. With it being steel and heavy it takes an age to warm up and this process just kills any chance of it being effective. So should i mess around with the pin or does it sound like trapped air etc? Great vid by the way, tonnes of useful info!

Love the British site-level piss taking banter. Reminds me of a time before the world went bat shit crazy. Great work fella. Keep it rolling.

My plumber say's ( when I ask him WHY the heaters only last a year, 34 housing-units and he's replacing heaters all the time ) you don't need tun-dish , expansion chamber (even though mains stop valve is right next to heater ) or safety-valve , it's just the heater units are crap and keep on leaking . So the geriatric society keep on paying him , what do us old people know about plumbing 🙃

Even if I'd started the job when this video was posted I wouldn't have finished it. And since you literally can't get a plumber (or any tradesman) round here for any job under £10k, I've been flushing the toilet with pans of water for two years and will continue to do so until I sell up.

Wouldn’t it be even better to use a pressure washer to blast it through? Or are there too many obstructions inside the rad?

Eerr could you not have just cut the bottom self out, done plumbing... put couple of wooden strips in for the bottom shelf to sit on, easy access later... simples

23:15 As someone from outside the UK: Why would a towel radiator have two valves? One must me hot side, and one cold side (return)? Why not just have one valve and make the other one like on the regular radiators? Then you could even set the proper flow rate, without having the risk that the occupant of the building will turn it wide open and mess up the hydraulics for the rest of the house. What am I missing?

2 things spring to mind: 1) 2 pipes & a piddly rad nearly beat you?? Either clickbait or your skills have slumped somewhat... and 2) what on earth was the point in the whole installation? A cavernous hall with a 1000BTU or so rad extra!!! Unless it was purely for content?
@FredSmith-eo6ce2 күн бұрын
As an avid watcher of your videos it saddens me to see you stooping to pushing products on them rather than actually being informative and useful. This is an ad & not mentioned as one. And is also an ad for a fairly naff CCTV system!! There's heaps better ones out there and this is peddled as 'the' solution... A shame.

I wouldnt do that to any of my work, imagine trying to locate a leak through the foam. I wouldnt advise anyone to do this.

This is exactly what i was looking for, Please can I ask… What is the distance between that shed and the inspection chamber on the patio? Will it work fine at that long distance? What is the total drop from the shed to the inspection chamber?

Did one myself but had to use tec tite push fittings, I think if the air flow comes in at 21⁰C it cuts off the fan also. I'm not too sure, though.

Whenever I set my TRVs on level 3 it shuts of flow to the radiator prematurely and my room never gets sufficiently hot. The heating was on for 90mins and my room only reached 18.3 degrees….

This is a great video, but I'd like to know what to do if the hot water flow comes from the boiler, feeds the majority of the downstairs radiators and then goes upstairs to all the rooms, and eventually comes downstairs to two final radiators? How does this affect how the lock-shields are adjusted?
