How to install / replace a Toilet Shut Off Valve. This particular one is a Kinetic 15mm Chrome Mini Cistern Cock purchased from Bunnings for around $10. The process for other brands would be similar if not the exact same.
Tools needed:
Adjustable wrench
Thread seal tape

Hey Project Lex, today I’ve done an outside garden tap replacement because it was leaking. I was in a house so the main water shutoff valve was outside the front of the property. Because the old tap was a female connector, I had to get another female one because if you buy a male one, it won’t work. Always check what tap before you buy it. If the old one is a male, buy the male, if the old one is a female, buy the female. I bought the female because the old one was a female.

Great video .. quick question my tap won’t shut off fully ? Not sure why .. do you think if I change the tap 🚰 it may shut fully off thanks 🇦🇺

Hi, no in the new tap there’s everything you need. Maybe the new tap is faulty? You might need to call a professional

Not a plumber here but I would like a bit of insight if you could. When ever I install/replace these shut off valves 5 times out of 10 I end up having a tiny leak. I always have to remove the damn thing and re upply A few times before I get no leaks. Apart from upplying the tape in a clockwise direction what is the magic trick to get a good seal fiirst time everytime? Lucky My work is for myself so I can check up on it. I cant imagine being a plumber and leaving a job knowing that I wont get a call back. I blame the fact that they have non tapered threads lol.

I used these mini stops under my sink after replacing both hot and cold and putting plenty of plumbers tape still oozes slightly buggered if i know what im doing wrong
