Very informative. Do you need to change the valve springs when you install the 475 cam? Thx

I was told that only for gear drive cam runout has to be within the spec. For chain drive, propel say runout don’t matter. Can you tell me which statement is correct?
@IronAnchorCycles3 жыл бұрын
It's a tighter tolerance for gear drives, but there's always a spec - even for the OE parts. S&S refers you to OE sepcs for chain drive, Feuling cam plates have a tighter spec since they don't use bushings the way S&S does. Then gear drive is a different animal.

The tolerance is .005 thou. Its on the s&s oil pump instructions. Can you please explain the options for people with more runout than this?
@davelee41243 жыл бұрын
@@elusivesambar8657 Yes. That is one of the first thing I looked at when I was trying to find the runout. Bothe chain and gear drive had same instruction on s&s official website. So I asked them(s&s) on their 475c cam kit installation video, and they replied back saying that runout is not relevant on chain drive cam kit.

What are the options if you are not in specs??? Can you correct it at home??

I was about to ask the same, guess I'll do some web search. My question is if the crank needs turned or replaced or if its as simple as a bearing? Honestly... if im tearing my motor that far down im going to replace the stock crank.... just me

Adjust camera angle so you don’t block the view

Easier said than done, but we'll keep trying with the camera angles to make it easier to see. Thanks for watching & your feedback.

Not once did I see the use of assembly lube, 2 tubes are included in the kit and should most definitely be used

check out part 2. The pink stuff gooped all over the oil pump is the generouse application of assembly lube. afaik not necessarry for cam bearing installation

Neighbor Harley tech for 22 plus years has never seen a bike come in with a failed bearing.. better bearings out there sure but OEM's failing... NO
