EXCELLENT SERIES! These are, by far, the most helpful gutter videos out here. Thank you for posting all of them. FYI, they have already saved me several thousands of dollars. In fact, I've decided to DIY this week. At 80 years of age, I'll get back to you with the results. Thanks again for your no BS style.

I also recommend replacing all gutter NAILS with the long gutter SCREWS.

Those loose gutter nails are not doing much. Screws can work if the wood hole is not too stripped out. But of course, the inner gutter hanger brackets are really best. I replaced the entire rotted fascia with PT wood painted on all sides and used gutter long screws as the gutter already had used nails. I even added extra screws near where I put up the ladder and it gives the gutter a lot more support. A new gutter, I used the inner brackets. Nice to not have any nail holes. I them did not use any guards, and in a year it was full of leaves. I them cleaned it out, then it filled again and so much got in there was like mulch. Birds would come flock onto the roof and peck into the gutter, and I would see leaves and debris fall onto the deck. So this month I put on some guards I had from the other gutter. The Amerimax white filter style. They can work ok, the gutter stays clean. We dont often get a super heavy hurricane like rain that will overflow those guards. pics of an album, the ones with leaves not cleaned for 7 years and really needs screwing down. Other gutter is new guards where the birds used to peck. photos.app.goo.gl/qvA3o3H2wMrLTzNz5

There is a lip on the front edge. Looks like that will form a trough that will gather wet, heavy debris.

I have a large Honey Locust right over my home. The leaves are about .5" x 1.5". I would be concerned that the leaves would just pile up on the screen as opposed to using a product that has a pitch that slides up under the started course. Your experience/recommendation?

I’m a roofer from Canada. Those leaves will just blow off the top. You can buy a Gutter brush to get the leaves off if you need. I would just like the wind take care of it.

How does this product do in winters?

Hello Timothy, Michigan is one of our top SF states. It should perform just fine in any kind of weather!

How do you do the corners? Like a corner where the two guards meet.
@bigrocksupply4 жыл бұрын
Hey Andrew, Thanks for the comment, Shur-Flo recommends you cut the endpoints at a 45-degree angle so that the ends can meet in the corner. Additional 1/2" and 1" reinforcement screws may or may not be necessary depending on how you see fit.

That's a lot of screws into the drip edge/ fascia board? Gotta be water damage after 5 years?

Through extensive testing and almost a decade of sales we have not known this to be an issue. However we do know that things like this, in theory, could happen. We would suggest purchasing supplemental #10 screws with a neoprene rubber washer to mitigate the risk of any water entry for any wanted extra assurance. - Screws: www.bigrocksupply.com/u-s-aluminum-10-x-1-hi-hex-head-screw-w-/-rubber-washer-100/bag.aspx

Sure-Flo has different types of gutter guards. Which one would you recommend? the Shur-Flo X or the Shur-Flo Flat. Thanks!
@joet82044 жыл бұрын
Shur Flo X is now the primary Shur Flo. The rippled panels promote airflow to remove debris and the company decided to just offer that product as it is much better! So long story short Shur Flo X became Shur Flo. Have a great day!
