How To Install Snow Mod in GTA IV (2024 - GTA 4 Mods Tutorial)

There seems to have been a misconception. The "pc/textures" folder has the incorrect file for "fxprojtex.wtd". Instead, you want to take the "fxprojtex.wtd" at the very forefront of the RAR file and put that in "pc/textures". What does this do? Everytime you walk or drive on the snow, the correct texture of snow will appear - instead of a dark-grassy look. As far as the grass kicking up when the tires skid on the snow - this can be fixed by installing the "GTA IV Realistic Snowfall Mod" that I showcased in this video. Very simple.

Install an ASI loader called xlive.dll, this will prevail your issues entirely :)

I've followed this to a T and love it but am having one small issue, the snow effect that comes off cars tires is grass instead of snow, as in it kicks up grass instead of snow. what file should I be looking at to fix this?

Just voicing my problem right here but I’m completely unable to download the Snow mods 4GB File?. It seems to cancel itself saying “Network problem” or “connection issue” such as that. I’m at a complete loss towards downloading the file and it’s kind of making me nuts.

Would be appreciated, to try another link for it. It may be Strict NAT type internet or something else. Tried installing a good few time.. I suppose all I can try is bringing my own pc drive to someone else’s computer and downloading snow mod from there. Otherwise am most certainly just cursed to not use the snow mod lol..

Right.. so different account, Tried downloading it on a Different pc with Different internet and it still didn’t work coming up with a “check internet connection” halfway through. It’s obviously a bit of a fishy file. Just cursed for sure but it’s probably this country’s internet that I am currently living in which is England. Proper nightmare

Despite following all the steps. The mod didnt go so well. Some places were snowy but other roads didnt have snow at all.

That’s so odd that you encountered that. Did you install any type of graphics mods AFTER installing the snow mod?

@@NotAJ Not really. In fact the only 2 things added before the snow mod was the DXVK and some sort of guard mod. However I think it most likely happened due to my patch being 1.0.4.0 instead of the suggested 1.0.7.0 version and not because of two things installed before

You might want to install a commandline! Those are pretty easy to get - here's a good set of those: -norestrictions -nomemrestrict

@@majimadavis3602 actually, I tried the Snow Mod with the latest update and it works perfectly, so no need to downgrading for me right now. The Simple Native Trainer also works great, so I’m happy this way 😁

Het is een beetje moeilijk te zeggen, maar ik zou proberen één bestand tegelijk te maken. Doorloop alle mappen en werk geduldig aan het vervangen van elk bestand dat uit de mod komt. Als je het goed doet, zou de sneeuw overal moeten verschijnen, zoals te zien in de video.
