I wish we would've had this video when we installed our sod. We got zeon zoyzia from super sod too. I regret not putting down a little compost beforehand, and I regret not using a roller. It's been three years, and the sod is doing well, there are some trouble spots, but I think as we top dress with soil over the years it'll improve.

Looks fantastic. I plugged my Zoysia. It took a good three years to look like sod, but it’s a great grass.

I just finished ripping up all the sod in my backyard. Thanks to my neighbour who doesn't take care of her lawn my yard was full of weeds. After tilling, adding some soil, and composted cow manure, leveling, fertilizing, today was the day for laying the sod. Hot and humid. Time for a beveridge.

It is definitely hot right now. Good work👍

It's all so nice and neat and green that it makes me want to install some sod! BUT, my property is completely lawn-free, so I will just enjoy your excellent handiwork.

Wow thank you I always search for diy like this to tackle my backyard and this is the best one yet.

I truly love your channel. Its so informative and your level of detail is fantastic. I have learned so much from your videos. Most of my lawn is pretty much established except for a few spots that need repair so most likely I'll just use seed but nonetheless I found this helpful. Thank you for sharing your expertise with amateur gardners like myself.

I've been prepping my front yard 2 weeks now to get it ready to lay sod. This weekend is the big get er did time. In my area, bermuda is the most successful for our screaming hot summers (Texas) zone 8 and heavy clay soil, so 3 pallets of that is what I've ordered. Cant wait to get it done. It's hard work but so worth it!

Wow, good work. Send a photo for subscriber Sunday after you get it done. Thanks for watching.

This might be a dumb question but does that type of grass grow out and you'll need to edge it to keep its shape? Or once laid down it just stays in that nice shape?

Zoysia spreads via stolons and rhizomes like Bermuda.
@JimPutnam4 жыл бұрын
It spreads on top and below ground. It is less aggressive than Bermuda, but it does need to be edged to control the spread.

Did you not have to kill the grass first? I’m needing to redo my lawn after some damage from equipment and am trying to avoid this step lol. I was thinking I could just till the dirt and grass and then rake out the old grass. I am also thinking of installing plugs instead

That sod is looking amazing! its so fine textured it reminds me of a KBG Rye grass mix.What do you plant to mow your zoysia at 1-2 inches? I think that is the height it looks best and I think it also the recommended height
