I have just performed the steps on my FA07 for Strings and Brass (EXP 07 and 08) collections and I can find them directly on the String / Brass category folders, no need to change for PCMS and unlock, etc as on 4:42 explains. Even more smoothly done, probably because of the update

Thanks for showing the tips. I bought the FA 08 a couple of weeks ago and your videos are brilliant for showing how to master it :) . I was a bit gutting to find there's no PC editor for the synth , the ablity to drag and drop samples from the PC desktop to FA 08's internal sampler without messing around with SD cards would be a game changer. Who would need Maschine. But don't get me wrong the Roland FA is far better than the other synths in the class. Thanks again :)

Have trouble loading in some stuff from axial. Iv figured out some of the expansions. Expansion 1-11 Iv got, but it’s the pad patches I’m having from with. For example the download “captain chill trap future bass bank pack”. I guess I’m asking how do I load the bank pack. It’s a PADCONF.BIN But won’t pop up when I hold preview and power on. Any thoughts?

Mr. ED Diaz, At the outset, a million grateful thanks to you for the videos on various aspects of operating the sounds etc. on Roland FA 06 or 08. I have a Roland FA 08 purchased 10 months ago. It is upgraded to version 2.03. In consonance with the guidance shown in the video, the addition of sounds downloaded from Axial website, it is seen that at any given point of time only two expansions are accepted. For instance, if EX 01 and EX 02 are loaded and then when EX 03 and EX 04 is to be added, then EX 01 and EX 02 is removed. Unable to comprehend the reason for this. Is it possible to add all the Sounds in EX 01 to EX 11 without losing any sound? Request to please guide. I am from India.

Eb diaz i used to work at sam ash.. while working there i used to play around with th Roland fantom 08 back in 2009 it had og of difrernt vocals rap r&b etc..as im learning to play. Hi Ed, just double checking - if I create a studio set with one of the Brass EXP sounds for one gig, then remove the Brass EXP to put in a different EXP pack for a different gig, will the brass sounds stay in place in that studio set? Meaning if I come to the gig where I need the brass soudns again, I just have to load them up beforehand and they'll be in the same place they were before I removed them?

Solution for me was reformatting the USB from NTFS to FAT32. Maybe the FA-06 is too old to handle USB sticks with better formatting.

One thing that I didn't hear mentioned: Slot 1 already contained Exp03, you chose to install Exp01 on Slot 1. This resulted in Exp03 to be shifted to Slot 2, while I thought it would have been erased.

Alex: My name is Rex Moyer. I'm having a very hard time getting the same question answered. The EXP 11 had a .bin file with Everything In It. It loaded fine. The Bin for some of the other packs are .SMP. They're in a column vertically down the left side with the Bin file located at the bottom. The .bin file content column (far right side) indicates having only a few kBits in it. If you discover a way to load those .SMP sounds please forward them to me. Especially if someone has made a video showing the order of steps to properly load the sounds. I'm also concerned since different packs seem to be numbered the same way, will new downloads overwrite earlier ones? That question is prompted by the warnings in some videos about overwriting. But, no one is being specific about where overwriting will occur. I'll be forever great full for a reply. It's for my FA-07. Thank you: Rex

Yeah, there is a good chance. Try formatting the USB stick with the FA and see if that corrects the problem.

@@synastikki for all the good things he shows he honestly doesnt go through the steps that well. Nor is he clear. I've read that loads of people have problems with their USBs. He neglected to say to format them. So can u tell me please because u sound like u know. These sounds. Is there a way to download all of the patches. No matter how long it takes, at the end of the day will they all be there when you next turn on the keyboard. Just like all the other preset sounds? Or do u constantly have to download the files everytime u want to choose a sound? I'd just like dome clarity. And he isnt giving me that. Also he seldom answers any questions from fellow players who sound like they really could use some advise. So I'm asking you....hopefully you can back to me.? Id appreciate it. Have the roland fa 08. You can keep them all on the usb stick but load only two of them in the board at the time. And what I've gathered the Exps need to be loaded with every power-on. I don't have the board so don't know exactly. I was considering for this but just can't seem to find a good cost/abilities/sounds - hardwaresolution to replace my laptop
