Why not make a magnetic lens shield or screw-on protection, or other way easy to remove and put the lens cover again? If I want to use the camera underwater, there is no practical way to remove the lens cover, put the diving case on, remove the diving case and put the lens cover again. This is the biggest problem of the one X2 and X3 câmeras: an easy and safe way to protect the lens. The premium lens guard opens when the camera falls.

My biggest problem both myself and my girlfriend have with the lens guards on both our cameras is sometimes depending on weather/temperature conditions there is "fog" or humidity moisture in between the lens and the lens guard with no way to clean or fix in the field. We have had to stop recording several times, and have had several videos be un-usable once in editing because you cannot tell if fog is there on tiny screen on the camera. I too wish there was another solution to quickly remove/clean/reinstall... but the risk of dust or lint is so high when doing anything on location/outdoors...

@@insta360tutorials I fully understand the reasons why the problem happens and there is no practical solution. It is nice that you have suggestions, but your remedy is very impractical. I would never use rice for this purpose because there is SO MUCH dust and small particles that you can not clean it from the static energy of the plastic lens guard. Also, doing this is not possible when you are on location, trying to record and the problem developed. Then, how do you suggest that you find a "low humidity environment"? When the atmospheric relative humidity is high (like Hong Kong when it is 81% that day) Last... have you actually tried to remove the adhesive ring from the lens after it has been installed and in the hot sun for a day? This task is almost impossible with the selection of adhesive you use. It is funny that your instruction video cuts this part out when demonstrating... In the end, it is a problem... it sucks... there is no simple remedy... BUT it is better than needing to return the camera for a replacement of the damaged lens... there is no perfect world for this situation. I know that having glass lenses that are replaceable by the customer is making the same risk of dust and moisture inside the camera and adding more risk of problems as well...

Hi, every time i install these “premium” lens guard it gives me a very “not premium” video quality because the stitch line is horrible, plus annoying light relfections on lenses. I tried cleaning them and activating lens guard option but it just cant get better. On top of that, they are easily scratchable. Not premium at all!

Tienen que solucionar el problema de los protectores, ya que cuando se meten al agua después de unas horas se humedecen las lentes y es imposible limpiarlos, por lo cual muchas veces a mi también me ha arruinado varias grabaciones que he hecho. Deberían de considerar en hacerlo más práctico, de tal manera que se pueda quitar y poner fácilmente, ya que incluso para cambiarle la pegatina cuesta mucho trabajo quitarle el pegamento. Adoro esta cámara Insta X3 y realmente me gustaría que tomarán en cuenta las opiniones de los usuarios.

Very expensive. Least GoPro include them and they are clip on. That’s why I still have my Max. Feels more robust. My X3 when I’m not doing anything remotely action esq. I’m sure there is equal revenue from new cameras being sold as there is repairs.

A camera costing this much and with lenses that stick out they shouldn’t need after market protectors. I had the same issue with them when trying to use the diving bell. The method of removing them scratches the lenses. It does.

Now the "new development"... If you leave these in place very long and the camera is in the sun and gets warm, the adhesive ring bonds so hard that you cannot pry the lens guard loose without breaking the guard. I complained about the issue and got zero support. Was told I could buy a new set... (which I did from an aftermarket source) These were far less expensive and I view them as disposable. I now only use them in cases where there is a higher risk of damage and install only when necessary...

Im fed up with all these worries, im going to refund my brand new X3 tommorow at JBHIFI Sydney, Australia 🇦🇺. Thankfully i got it for $630 AUD staff discount but yeh im over it im going either to lock in Osmo pocket 3 or awaiting for X4! Besides with old model i feel like im not relevant with older technology, only way not to be behind is to fast track to the X4. Also what prompted my executive decision to refund is im not content with the price tag of $800 brand new which does not justify the $50 difference to the Dji Osmo Pocket 3 built quality!

When using in or around water, dirt, or sand, make sure to properly close the battery lock cover and USB lock cover (the yellow indication marks should not be visible and you should hear a clicking sound when they are closed correctly). c. I love the camera but the outer lens just scratches easily. I dropped the camera in a pool and the outer lens has 2 scratches on it and I seen people buff it off but it ruins the video quality on the long run. I wish this video spent more then 3 seconds showing how to remove the old tape off the lens guard... its not really clear when I do it how hard I need to press... the black rubber comes off with it and does not really separate from the adhesive.

Removing the adhesive is pretty brutal, these are not really reusable unless you want to spend and hour removing glue from a tiny surface.

For the price you should get 5 per pack and Insta360 should stop pretending they are reusable. That would make the sticky lens protectors a product that a positive user experience. Removing the adhesive is not a positive experience. I already scratched one of the lens protectors trying to get the adhesive off after an hour of work removing it.

Installed as per video , enabled the lens guard option setting in menu … Effect is bad, still stitching or distortion , whatever you call it , not smooth video it’s like a wave coming over video . Doenst work

Not happy with this product. While it will protect the lens, the stitch line is no way near than with out the guards. This is after I activated the guard filter supposedly design to address the issue I see. Not a good solution at all. Insta360 needs to come up with a better solution it they market this as an action camera.

Great camera, **b u t** the lens design is very bad! Scratches very easy and replace it is very expensive! Lens guard are poor quality mad of plastic, fogs and not sealed for water! If you good solution please advice

They are crap. They fog up internally as the camera heats up and or external ambiant temp effects them. Dont use them unless you are desperate

My experience as well... specially when recording in cold settings... or humid settings... bad thing is you cannot tell most times until editing the video and it is not usable... thinking you got the shot, and now you cant use it...

Same Problem... AND the first time I used their "pick" tool to remove they broke... Customer Support was very poor...

Don't buy this...just spend yours money for nafing like me 😢
