Same here, I asked support how they did the Atlanta garage and they said it was a one-off custom edge. I need the same thing for some garage stairs.

Seems pretty straight forward. Just use aluminum angle iron and then fasten it with masonry screws that are countersunk into the angle iron

Track saw would likely be more convenient than a circular saw. Makita typically rates highest without going high end (Festool, etc.) Just slap the track down and cut.

I always find a jigsaw is brilliant for curved cuts and a little less daunting to use than the circular saw. Also no need for a sheet of plywood just cut off the side of a stool or work bench

Hey Matt I’ll be installing Swiss trax in my garage soon (yes, I’ll order from you). Torn between slate grey and black. Do you find the slate grey gets dirty quickly? I typically wash the car in the driveway then drive it inside to dry so I can imagine wet tires might leave some black marks. I’m leaning towards all black with an all grey border. Thanks.

Thank you for the video. How does this flooring hold up with a motorcycle on a jack that's rolled around or a tire change machine on a mobile base? I'm currently working on organizing my garage and getting it looking good. Need a flooring option that will hold up the the weight of a large Harley on a jack.

Can you explain the benefits/difference between having this vs a epoxy floor, I find it very difficult to install this and thinking the concrete underneath will collect a lot of water under where the epoxy is a protective clear coat. The Swiss trax looks great but I just can’t install it on my own would rather pay a place to do it but don’t know who will do that
@on4acres
@on4acres 4 ай бұрын
The one thought I have, is significantly less prep. The epoxy requires you to grind the floor down, a lot of prep and potentially could not take. Where this you just drop it down and thats it.

Anybody notice that when you want to buy/order something you have to give all your personal information; name, address, etc before you can find out how much the shipping costs will be. Then, even if you do not buy anything, they have all that information about you. Also, I could not find a way to contact them to ask prior to purchasing. Many conmpanies are doing this same way. Really, all you should have to do is have a place to enter your zip code and it should automatically give you the shipping cost/handling costs BEFORE you enter any other information.

The site says $9 per tile for RibTrax standard colors. There's no way that's correct right? A 1000 sq ft garage would be almost 6K after tax, S/H, and the tile cutter rental
@ObsessedGarage
@ObsessedGarage 6 ай бұрын
They sell in a 6 pack. That may be just to get a sample tile. They are $51.50 per 6 pack or $8.58 per tile. But remember each tile is 1.7227 sq. ft. They are 15.75" x 15.75." That means they are $4.98 per sq.ft.

Yeah I doubt this is practical for where I live. I love the look and I love a clean garage but my wife’s Caddy looks like it takes a shit after every snow storm with all the salt and sand from the roads. I put epoxy down. Looks good. It does scratch a bit but this seems like the best solution for us. Apparently the epoxy guy said after a few years of the epoxy loses shine or scratched up you clean it and pour another layer and it looks new again.
@mback12000
@mback12000 11 ай бұрын
Exactly. Maybe good for a museum. But if you actually work in your garage, despite best efforts to be clean the first time that pulled off radiator hose missed the bucket, you'll be pulling the floor or living with the mess.
