Friendly tip from a hairstylist certified in tapes, she's putting way too much hair in between the tapes which is most likely causing the slippage. A good rule of thumb is the hair in between rhe tapes you should be able to read a newspaper thru it. The heat to seal them once there is less hair will definitely work. Goodluck!

Hey, since you are a hairstylist I have a genuine question. What is the difference between tape in hair extensions and old school glue in extensions damage wise? I’m caught between making my own tape ins and just doing a track by track glue in.

@@bret9675 hey girly! Tape in extensions in my opinion are way less strenuous on the hair, when applied properly! Tapes are light weight & as long as they're put in and taken out with the correct products you won't lose any hair. Glue ins to me are OK too but I personally wouldn't use that glue directly on my hair, even tho with glue ins you'd usually use a cap and liquid barrier. But I'd say for more versatility go with tapes! I have them in. My hair is silky & very fine and I've never lost hair using the tape ins. If you've never done them I'd definitely get them put in by a professional! Goodluck 🤍🤍

Flat iron on low heat helps the adhesive adhere. Looks like she may have placed a smidge too much of your natural hair in between the extensions.

Biosilk serum!! CHI serum works well too. I like using water based heat protection sprays (tresemme has a good one) in conjunction with a serum.

Quick tip, ur natural hair that is being sandwiched between the tape ins should b super super thin. Mayb that’s why a few of them came out. Other than that, beautiful results.

They feel like nothing’s there until you have to scratch your head lol. And there’s no trouble with parting and as long as you avoid placing the tape ins where you’d like your parts to be!

It depends on your natural density and head size. My hair is very thick so I tend to use 3 packs but someone with thinner hair may be able to use 1.5 packs.
