Installed on ccm FL40 M with provided hardware. It was quite difficult but it works. You have to hold the foam behind the holes to make it happen but its doable. Looks great. I saw in here that it wasn't compatible but incan confirm it is. Not easy though.

Got this yesterday to install on my son’s ccm helmet he had gotten from Learn to Play. Order description was 34081-2 | 30", Philadelphia FlyersSM8.0", Black/BlackSM. They said at store it would fit but just reconfirming because I’m not getting it on easily as of yet

Hi Josh, Depending on when you got the helmet it could be one of 2 models. Our learn to play helmet changed from the CCM FL40 helmet to the CCM 50 helmet within the last year. If you got the helmet within the last year it is the CCM 50 helmet and as long as the FV1 you purchased is a junior size it should fit the small sized helmet. If you got the helmet over a year ago it would be the FL40 helmet and unfortunately we were not able to confirm sizes and fits for the FV1 on that model as it was discontinued, but is very similar to the CCM 50 Helmet so we would expect it to work just the same. I would recommend flipping the FV1 up while installing as seen at 2:14 and if you are struggling you can turn the fv1 upside down or sideways to get an angle on that 1st screw and turn it back over for the second. If you are still having trouble I might recommend bringing the helmet in to the store with the FV1 to have it installed. Hope this helps and is not too confusing! Thanks again

Hi Kat, looks like that model helmet is specific to a Canadian retailer but it looks similar to the old CCM FL40 helmet. Unfortunately that is a model we have found does not properly fit either full face shield(FV1 or Concept 3) because of the way the plastic is molded around where the hardware goes in.

​@@purehockeyI just installed the senior CCM fv1 on the Senior FL40. Fits fine. You just need to apply pressure on the inside foam when screwing in the screws. It's not easy but it's possible.

Does anyone know the size of the top clip screws? Had to hacksaw off old screws to get visor off old helmet, they were rusted in place. I saved the visor clips but can't seem to find appropriate sized screws.

We're unsure of the thread pitch on the helmet screws, but do have helmet repair kits that will come with the proper replacement screws and are generally good to have on hand at all times. www.purehockey.com/product/a-r-helmet-repair-kit/itm/5179-2/

Why are the screws on the jclip scraping the side of the faceshield?

They may scrape a little as you play but shouldn't be too much. Make sure the J-Clips are on the correct side and screws are tight. If that doesn't help, and you are near a store, you can bring it in and one of our associated could take a look!

Does the list is up to date? I have a ccm tacks 70 and its not on the list. I was wondering if it fit.

This list will need to be updated with some of the newer helmets, but yes this will fit the Tacks 70.

I took my chin cup off to replace it becausе mine was pretty beat up. Now i dont know how to put it back on. Theres three slots and i dont know how to weave them through so it stays, can sum1 pls help

The middle part of the strap is on the outside, the outer edges are on the inside. I don't know if that makes sense, but if you are close to a store, stop in and we'll gladly help!

Are the clips facing up or down? We have found the shield does not fit flush or properly when the clips are facing up and CCM has specifically instructed to install them facing down for proper use. The junior size FV1 fits on every size of the CCM 50 helmet and the senior size of the FV1 fits on Medium and Large CCM 50 helmets but not the small and x-small. Hopefully that helps!

Connor Bedard had his clips facing up during the World Juniors. What’s the advantage to them facing down?

In all the images we are seeing of Bedard he is wearing a Bauer Concept III Full Face Shield. With the Concept III you can wear the clips up or down depending on how you would want the face shield to fit. However, with the CCM FV1 Full Face Shield we have found the shield does not fit flush or properly when the clips are facing up and CCM has specifically instructed to install them facing down for proper use. We've seen it done, but you may run into clearance issues when trying to close the shield.

Both will fit. It just comes down to face size. Typically the Junior is more suited for a child or someone with a smaller face, while the Senior is for most adults and teens.

Hi Matt, Tough to answer with absolute certainty with an older model like that, given that the FV1 came out long after the 9900 was discontinued so we have not had a chance to test compatibility there. Hi Robert, Though not included on our chart the Krown PX3 is very similar to the Covert PX+ and we were able to install the FV1 on all sizes of that helmet. The FV1 should fit on the Krown PX3 with no issues.

We did not have the opportunity to test fit this shield with the Warrior Krown PX3, but we've found that most Warrior helmets don't play nicely with Bauer/CCM Full Face Shields. That said, it MAY fit with some finagling - we just can't confirm it.

The position and angle at which you attempt to install the hardware is very important.
