Thank you for the video. I ordered the Bosch Fuel pump off amazon for 145.00 dollars. Without this video I would of had to pay 500-600 dollars at my mechanic. It took a few hours, but I got the job done with the help of this video. Thanks!

I have a 2005 Impala and there is no access door in the trunk for replacing the fuel pump.

Thank you guys for showing me how to get to the fuel pump w/o dropping the tank. I've been looking everywhere. I dropped the tank on an 02 Expedition and it wasn't fun. I know I may still have to drop it but we'll cross that bridge later (I hope not)

when you say non ferrous, you mean metals w/o iron ? so copper does not spark ? i never knew that.

great video, you should do yourself a favor and get one of thos battery terminal wrenches that are covered in plastic and shorter, considering if you were undoing the positive terminal and accidentally hit a ground source, well there is enough current in the battery to weld with + a large ammount of hydrogen gas created.

Is the valve behind the power steering reservoir on the back side of the intake manifold not a fuel pressure test port?

is it a shrader valve ? does it go to the upper intake manifold or the fuel rail ? The year of this monty carlo is within the same year range of my Impala, both being "W" bodies and it looks like a 3.4L also. Mine does have a fuel test port on the fuel rail in back of the power steering. in a way it makes it slightly dangerous if you are not carefull with hose placement while the engine is running. GM / Kent Moore has a special adapter, it is around $300 though.

would this work on my 2004 Chevrolet Impala LS with a 3.8, my car tries to start, tries to run but then just quits and dies, im replacing the filter within the next few days but im hoping i dont need to do the pump, but if so, its in the same area, do i need to have the pressure guage? i dont have one

I don't know anyone that was able to install the fuel pump with a new gasket. I tried a new gasket on a W body and I had to use the old gasket, the new would not fit.

The process is the same, the pumps are different in pressures and outputs. Be sure to specify you have a super charged engine when ordering your pump.

It's professional but he left out a few things there are two different pumps you got to get you can get an oem pump or the pump with the upgraded wire connection he had the one with the updated wire connection it did not show us how to do that but it should be plain and simple to hook up but still should have left that information in there

Looks like the (bad pump) is pretty new. Must be an airtex. Of course it's been 12 months so its not under warranty. AIRTEX IS TRASH.

How much pressure does need to be saved in the gas pump ?
