Thanks for doing this video, I'm building one of these in my shop. When I got this there was no deck or motor. A lot of the pulleys are gone. But I did notice I'm still missing a pulley close to the motor. Thanks again for the video.

Question on my gt6000 when I press the clutch while in neutral it takes 5 to 8 secs for the main pulley to stop spinning so I can put it into gear. It has always taken a second or 2 but never 8 seconds. Any advice

hey man, I hope you see this but I got a big question. I routed my belt the correct way but it seems like its gonna rub on the "steering head". Is this normal or am I missing a belt keeper/guide or something? I bought the mower off of someone and I'm having to put it together. I was hoping you'd show more of the layout of the belt/clutches. I'm using ereplacement parts for diagrams but it seems like I'm not missing anything BUT it doesn't sit right with me that the belt is SO CLOSE to the steering head.

Love it.... My gt6000 im seeing is a lot different motor then the ones im seeing. The drive pulley in vertical on the back of the motor an my pto is vertical on the front of my motor... But othere than thate my sticker was in the exact same place.

Long shot, but do you happen to have the sizes for the deck belts. I got a 46 inch same type drive belt and has a 18.5 hp magnum . But i cant seem to find the sizes for the belts .. thanks

Nice video ... as I am trying to replace the cutting deck ground drive belt ... (thought of replacing transaxle belt as well) ... I have a 94' (95') GT6000 22 HP ... 50" inch deck ... unfortunately ... it appears that the tension idler pulley arm is a bit out of alignment with the pulley setting at a slight angle ... whereby ... the belt runs to the upper edge of pulley ... (is this normal? ... I'm guessing not)and has become frayed and gouged out in a couple places along the belt ... ??? ... very frustrating ... ??? ... so I have bought a new belt ... and am in the process of reinstalling ... yet ... due to angle of pulley ... thinking it will happen again ... ??? ... Also ... does it matter the actual length of the belt ... (as on Craftsman website ... indicates 95 1/4" ) ((I was able to pickup a 95" belt)) ... along those lines ... the website also indicates the transaxle belt is 83 1/4" ... is it really that critical ? ... (could not find correct size locally) ... So ... with that ... hoping you might be able to provide some insight into this situation (why is idler pully not sitting level ???) ... (I have thought about taking the arm and bending the heck out of it ... yet ... have not ... as it may be more hassle than it's worth???) Thanks for your help in advance 😉

Thanks for getting back, I really appreciate that, is there a belt for the steering or could it be something else, thank you very much
@Buckwsr2 жыл бұрын
No belt for the steering. It is a gear-driven mechanism.

You don't have to take the pto clutch off and you wanna start at the engine then put everything upfront on then rear clutch last 15 min with deck on but lowered to ground.

Does this belt have anything to do with the steering. My 6000 is difficult to steer and the drive belt is very loose. Great video by the way, thank you
@Buckwsr2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the note. The steering system would be completely independent of the drive belt, as the two systems are not connected in any way. I hope you can figure it out....

Use the craftsman model number...sticker under the seat?....to look it up.
@strangersf4 жыл бұрын
I have that exact model, Mine won't allow me to shift into any gear whether the engine is on or not. Can you suggest a cause or remedy with that sparse info? Thanks
@Buckwsr4 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure. This may be obvious....there is a high/low selector rod on the right hand side (while seated) that must be in position, up or down, or else you won't go anywhere....
@strangersf4 жыл бұрын
@@Buckwsr I'll check it tomorrow. Thank you very much for responding!

NO, I've owned this exact tractor for 25 yrs and its not necessary to remove the PTO drive pulley.

My tractor is missing "The Loop" belt guide and I cannot find one anywhere. Even the parts breakdown images Sears offers does not even show that part. Any idea where I can get one and what the actual part name might be? Thanks! Great video by the way!

I had two of these tractors, and I combined my favorite components onto the one I kept and still use. The deck I have is a 46 inch, I think. I had to get creative in finding the right belt sizes....
