I've always been told never use a stainless shackle for an anchor shackle. Stainless lacks the flexibility of a high test alloy galvanized steel shackle. And I guess the Mantis anchor swivel manufacturer agrees with this being that they only warranty their swivel for 5 years. If you use one of these make sure to replace it every 5 years. It can be impossible to spot the cracks and crevice corrosion.

This anchor swivel looks well made. What sized do they come in and what do you recommend for a 33' boat?

Hi! The size will depend on the chain. The smallest model is the S1 and that fits chain that's 1/4" and 5/16" so it's likely that is what you'd need.

The two difficult parts of this install are to get the cotter pin to follow the curve of the swivel and to seize the shackle. This video covers neither.
