In this vlog I show you how to install the New ACS XL rear mud flaps. These work on all C7 corvettes. Stingray, Grand Sport, Z06 or the ZR1. These are a must for protecting the rear of the car.

Just installed the ACS enhanced guards. Nearly stripped the hex on the OEM screws on passenger side. Slowed myself down for the driver’s side. All worked out well, looks great. Thanks for the info.

I just received these and I'm installing them now. I also have the XL, but I noticed I DON'T have that extra little tab on the bottom like the OEM does. Not a very tight fit either. I hope they don't fly off for $500 plus tax and shipping!! The instructions say nothing about removing those screws, but I did because I just never got a secure snap in place. Not thrilled with them for $570.

Was wondering what ceramic coating You used, and where did you purchase it, and for how much. I just put the ACS XL on the front of my ZO6, and GM on Rear. I also taped an sprayed undercoating on the front, (before install). Down in Texas, and the roads are getting worse. Thanks for Your informative videos.

Had a blast last weekend. Almost done with my vid. I'll send you a link when done. I didn't get the greatest footage because I spent most of my time talking. So many great people there! And from all over the place. I'm looking to set up something like that here again with some locals. It's one thing to just have a meet up but adding a drive to it adds so much value. Just installed the rear flaps and FYI if you buy these go ahead and remove all the clips from your original flaps and use them on the new ACS flaps. I had a small gap after the first install ,after some frustration i finally swapped clips and now they fit perfect.

I did the same thing afterwords and got ahold of ACS. They had some go out with some bigger clips installed now they come in a pack in the box and you put them on so they have fixed the issue on the fly. I agree was a little frustrating but thinking prevailed.

Chuck picked up a pair of ACS XL rear fender flaps for my 2015 Z06. Had them painted oem black. They are a pain. Don’t use clips provided , they will not pull the flaps in tight against bumper. Had to pull off the oem clips and use them. Much better clips. Pain in the butt to try and get them to align properly against the bumper. Still have gaps that show the metal clips. Outside painted however the inside that you can see is glossy black plastic. Also on the inside there is a gap big enough to accumulate those small rocks to make noise for ya. My take, you get a $10 piece of plastic , $20 painted job, for a few bucks shy of $300. I definitely would not recommend these to any one else. Poor fit, very cheap material, wee over priced. One ⭐️ maybe.

Did you not read in the description 🤔🤔 they sent some out with larger clips and you need to use the OEM ones. I put them on both my Corvettes and have had several people reach out theirs went on just fine. The entire rear part of the car is plastic 😂🤣😂.

Corvettes 918 Yes I did read instructions. No where it states remove OEM clips from the OEM part and re-install on ACS part. Only use bottom screw clip and the little white clip from the OEM part. Bottom line ACS has dropped the ball on this release. Instruction sheet #45-4-193. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PART FROM ACS.

Yes, when it gets cooler I will install them on both vettes. Its averaging 105-110 heat index like to do that kinda work in the fall.

Hey Chuck, good info on the mudflaps.....going to their site to see what they have available for my C6 GS. As you may remember we are fresh back into the hobby and are like a sponge gathering information. Have you done a video on “Car Covers”? We recently purchased a flannel cover only to find myself spending 30min wiping dust off the car each time before driving!! $125 down the drain. Any thoughts on a cover for inside storage. What the heck, with the cost of the new ACS Splash Guards they should come with clips that fit properly. The original par of ACS Splash Guards I have on my Corvette fit just fine. I tried to install the new Splash Guards tonight before seeing your video below and they don’t even stay in the slots. I am loosing a lot of respect for ACS if they can’t ship clips that fit the new Splash Guards properly.

You simply use the clips from the guards you take off. I agree they should have caught the issue beforehand. I was told some of them had the wrong clips. Mistakes happen and it’s not like they are Notorious for making mistakes but they do happen. Heck I had to take my ZR1 back to the dealer because the passenger air bag won’t deploy if your tracking it. Now that’s a major issue. Humans are involved so there are going to be mistakes in about everything. Yes it’s a pain but the work around is simple and the issue has been fixed I am told with future shipments. .

Corvettes 918 I tried to remove the 2 clips and bent the clip and the teeth. So now I am Two clips short on the Rock Guards I have on the driver’s side of my Grand Sport. Yes mistakes happen but if ACS knew about it they should have sent a pack of new clips with every set of XL Rock Guards until they knew their inventory of bad clips was exhausted. Now I have a set of XL Rock Guards sitting on the shelf waiting 2-3 weeks for new clips from ACS. Very frustrating. (Not asking that you defend ACS. Please don’t get me wrong. None of this is on you.)
