Ford 3.7 v6 started life as a Porsche engine and was sold when Porsche decided to use an Audi V6 for the Cayenne and sold it to Ford for use in the Jaguar S-Type and Mazda 6 models as a 2,5lit and 3.0 lit v6. Cosworth had a development hand in it as well.. This engine has racing characteristics. The head is flowing good!

Ok I have 2 questions. 1 whats up with the C85 ? , why not the C16 . ? Is the C85 VP's new blend for turbocharging? #2, Have you done any math to see if a thick head gasket by Cometic would drop the compression ratio a full point or more. They have that spring steel/carbon fiber/ spring steel 3 piece that will hold a ton of boost with no o-ringing required. And if they could get a set done for example crushed .057 vs. stock which maybe .019 Who knows Im just saying if a head gasket swap is all that is needed to get the 3.7 from 10.5:1 down to anything less than 9:1 would really make a difference to the life of the motor. I imagine after (Im guessing but 2500 rpm,) the timing is backed way off from what it runs stock. And it doesnt see a factory amount again through the entire run/pull/ drive what ever. Point is if the motor was less compression like 8.5:1 and you dont do anything else to the tune other than to lower the CR so you can add some timing all other things the same the 8.5: 1 cr will allow you to run a lot more timing and make more power than a high cr motor with less timing. And if a head gasket swap would do that to make it worth your while seems like a smart way to go.

C85 is basically E85 and Nitro Meth combined. Its an oxygenated fuel and it makes amazing power. We love it. Since we have just been pushing a 100% stock motor to its limits we have not tried a headgasket. However I do agree but I would go with the Cometic MLX which is almost like having an o ring, and it can come in a 5 layer to get the height we would want to try for lower compression. This is something we might try here in the near future.

Which exhaust fits with the y pipe that it comes with? And can I also use an x pipe instead of a y? And do they all have to be catless or can it be catted

1. The Y pip is extra not standard 2. It fits relatively with most axlebacks. 3. There is no need for an X as it comes out of 1 pipe from the turbo. the Y pipe splits it into 2 pipes so you can still have dual exhaust. 4. We can make a catted downpipe but we dont know why anyone would do that.
