Tusk Pannier Racks feature an exclusive quick release system that hold your panniers securely yet allow you to remove them in seconds! For security measures, an optional included locking knob threads to the rack from inside your panniers. If your panniers are locked, there is no way to remove them from the rack.

ATTENTION: This install is for 2016-17 not for 2018-2019. I just installed these racks on my 2019 AT CFR1000L. When you get these, you'll get instructions that say its for the adventure sports model. It's got pictures and instructions, but even these looked slightly different than what my bike looked like under the seat. You don't have to do any drilling on 18-19 models. One tip I can give is you don't have to unplug your tail light like the instructions tell you to do. Just remove the 2 screws and there is one prong through a rubber grommet at the bottom that the light pops out of. Then just lay the light on the inner fender and install your mounting bracket according to the instructions. Other than that the racks look great and feel solid as a rock.

Just installed my racks right along with this video. I would caution people to leave all bolts loose including the cross member bolts that you initially put up into the rear. I discovered the things may not line up perfectly if you tighten as you go! But everything fits perfect. Thank you for the install video

Nice racks, even though my kit was incomplete ( missing all the 6mm nuts ). You can also drill the pilot holes without removing the rear rack. Like the Touratech rack install demonstrates. Rack install: Approximately 30 min.

Any concern leaving the fasteners loose with the thread locket applied for the time it takes to get the cross piece installed? I was taught to immediately torque any fastener with thread locker as letting it even partially cure and then turning the fastener again can lessen its effectiveness. I generally loose fit as you did, then snug fit all fasteners, and then remove them one by one, apply Loctite and then torque to spec.

I love Tusk products and this looks like another great addition to the Africa Twin. I wonder why Tusk does not produce the racks for XR650L's. I have to buy moose ones and they will not have the quick release because I plan to use the Tusk Panniers. I fee like there is as many XR650L owners as there is DR650, and DRZ400 that Tusk makes the racks for.
