Thank you for showing the attachment of the base clip. I could not understand the instructions that came with the towers or the Yakima video. They need to be inserted into the slot! I was inserting it under! I didn’t even notice the slot until you showed it.

I purchased & installed only the rear rack on my truck, because I used a truck rack for the rear crossbar. Help in proper measurement for placement of the rear roof rack would be helpful. GREAT VIDEO. Thank you!!

Sure...just add the M2 and M4 measurements together for your rear bar placement without a front bar.

Is there any reason the Crossbars can't be moved farther away - front and back - than 32 inches? Sure seems like they might be, and that would make a long load like a Paddle-Board ride with much more stability. Thanks.

Hello. The Yakima engineers provide the precise measurements to correspond with the vehicle specific clips sets. The 32 inch spacing is their standard to work best with the widest range gear. For reference, the 32 inch spacing is suitable to transport up to a 16 foot canoe. Thanks!

On mine the front rubber pads of base clips dont fit (to wide) into the the car roof channel with the black plastic strip. Is this an issue? While the rear base clip rubber pads fit in channel with room to spare.

Hello. There is a listing for the 2023 Toyota Rav4 with fixed points which may, at first glance, appear to be a bare roof. How do you know the front bar is properly installed? That's more important than how to install the second bar.
