We have downloaded all the files and came to the "launch Bat file, here is where it stops for us. It doesnt allow us to move any futher at this point. It didn't work for me. Not sure if because I have to play the mod by renaming the folder. I've tried putting the reforged folder into the renamed Third Age folder and opening the mod. Which only opens up the regular Third Age, but without Reforged. Wonder if you could help me, plz??

Third age reforged is standalone. It's not supposed to be placed over third age anymore. That is why it isn't working.

Please man help me, i cannot run the game. I unzip reforged and moved it to the mods carpet(its not in steam, i install my games in other carpet) but when tried to run the game with The "reforged.bat" archive you say in the video, it always sent me to Medievall II Total war game original, not the mod Reforged. Please how can i fix this error.

@@CelticWarband Int the mods carpet. The "reforged.bat" doesnt load the game even now. But finally i could manage to enter the game. I remember i had a similar problem installing Third Age mod (first version). I changed the name of the carpet Reforged to "Americas" and then I enter using the icon access direct of the mod Americas. I dont know if that is the correct way to load the game but i could enter doing it.

when I click on the reforged folder every thing is the same except for icon.ico, under the heading Type yours says Icon while mine says IrfanView Ico file. Does Divide and Conquer work with .97? Because I tried to download the latest version of DaC and nothing happened, reforged looked the same and it still crashed in campaign. So do i have to use an older version? Im fine with it I do I just dont know which DaC works with which patch for Third Age

No no no... DaC and Reforged are SEPARATE mods. They don't go together. Basically its like this: Medieval II ---------------> Third Age: Reforged | Third Age (vanilla) | Third Age (DaC) So Third Age: DaC is installed overtop of Third Age (vanilla) as a submod. But Third Age: Reforged is completely separate. I also wouldn't recommend playing the Reforged campaign yet as it isn't complete and crashes all the time. Use DaC for the time being.

Nope it is free forever. They say you need to pay but you don't. And no once the file is unpacked the game will work, even if you uninstall winrar.

Every time I try to play a map let’s say Isengard it says it requires ( Fortress+Orcs ) and I did that but when I play the game it gives me the black gate. And it’s like that for almost all the Siege maps. Help

Hmm have you tried reinstalling it? Haven't played much Third Age recently so I don't know if its a bug or some of your files aren't installed correctly.

Ah well the reforged campaign is in its VERY early stages. So there are probably issues with the custom maps and settlements. Use the Divide and Conquer mod for a campaign now. Reforged campaign isn't ready.

Whenever i play a campaign as the dwarves when i reach turn like 20, i end the turn and once it reaches the neutral faction, it says medieval 2 total war encountered an unspecified error and will now exit. Do you have any answers for that?

No but I do know that the reforged campaign is buggy. The DaC campaign is much more stable. Could try moving your dwarves save to desktop and reinstall reforged. Then move the save file back and try again.

If you have google chrome, make sure it is set as your "default browser". Otherwise, it will default to internet explorer for downloads.

Did you extract the mod? If you moved the downloaded files directly to the mods folder, that won't work (and is probably why you are missing some files). Make sure you extract/unpack the mod using Winrar to the mods folder. If you do this and still nothing, confirm your download file sizes and considering redownoading the mod files.

You can just download them separately. Reforged isn't a part of vanilla Third Age anymore. So download Third Age into your mods folder and then download Third Age: Reforged into the mods folder separately. Both will work.

Yeah my guess is it's a setting in the mod, but it alters the preferences folder so that all mods are effected.

Best bet is to buy it off steam. That version imo is the easiest for installing mods. Very straightforward.

Hmm there are a couple reasons why that could happen. Try turning graphics down a bit. Also, some of the custom siege maps cause crashing and should be avoided. However, if it crashes on regular battles, again try reducing graphics and/or try reinstalling.

Hmm try redownloading and reinstalling. Sounds like it's possible some of your maps files are corrupted or missing.

Its sounds like some files didn't install properly. Might need to do a fresh install of the mod.

Reforged is more battle focused (although they are working on a campaign). Third Age was the original mod and have both campaign and multiplayer.

Hmm try reinstalling it? Or if you are a steam user try verifying your game files (right click on med 2 then properties. Go to local tab and click verify integrity of game files).

Hmm maybe its too unstable for nonsteam versions? It's hard to say... sounds like you are playing campaign. Is the battles fine? Because I did mention that I got crashes on end turns alot. The campaign is VERRRRY early alpha and not stable.

If you have a disc version, just download the mod into the mods folder of the Med2 version you have. All other steps are the same.
